TV question

I am building one of your Su-37s and I have a question. I only have a 6 channel transceiver. Are there any control issues with just using a y connector to connect the elevon and tv servos to the same channel?

First of, what is an transceiver? hehehhe
Just kidding I know what you mean.
I had the TV on the flaps channel and mixed it in with the elevator,
but by doing this the TV will only move in one axis

Hope this helps

I did the same. TV on the pitch axis with a switch to turn it on/off.

I take off and land without TV (That way I can 'feel' how fast the plane is going so I avoid stalling), but then once I want to kick some mean aeros, turn it on and away you go!

What radio do you have? We might be able to help you with the setup...

It is a JR Sport SX600. I guess I could just connect the linkages as is suggested in the plans but it would be nice to disable it until I fly it a few times and get the feel of the airplane.

So you've got 3 custom mixes? I used the Max 66, which hopefully is similar.

My setup had two custom mixes, turned on with the gear switch. They were elevator master, channel 5 slave and channel 6 slave. I also used the delta mix to make the elevons work.

That pretty much maxed out the old system. I now use a better radio, but still a 6 channel Rx, but with 4 custom mixes I have aileron mixed in too. If you have more mixes than the Max 66, you could do that too...

It has 3 mixes, flaperon, delta, and v-tail so I don't see that I have the capability to use the other two channels except for flaps and gear. I think the easiest thing may be to connect the TV and elevons via mechanical linkage and do the first flight over tall grass.

I have a wrecked f-18 that is serving as an organ donor and it has two large servos so that should work. Thanks for the help.

Print out your profile of the MKI to roughly the size of the Su-37 plans, overlay them and cut your profiles accordingly....leaving tons of extra around the edges so you have plenty of extra so you can shape it right. It should only affect the two fuse sides and the canopy pieces.

Good luck man.

Yeh, that's the plan.. I've got the 30MKI printed out over the 37 and it looks pretty easy..

I think you are right, it should only affect the fuse sides, canopy pieces and maybe a touch of the build up pieces for the blending around the canopy.. Shouldn't be too hard..

IMO, there's not enough build-up pieces in the original plans. I used 4 instead of 3 on each side. You'll probably want to cut them a little bigger too.

Did I just do a Landing Gear OOPS?

Ive started building a 137% version of this plan since ive completed the 100% scaled version quite some time ago now.

At this stage im at 70% of the build with my 137% scaled version.

And Today I was playing around with a flat digital scale that allowed me to measure each wheel load.

Front wheel 870 grams
Rear wheels about ~550 grams each

Uh ooh. What was I thinking

Somehow I thought like in the real scale birds , most of the weight would be over the rear wheels. But the gear possitions being a triangle with the center of gravity in the center makes this unfortunate outcome.

Best solution, Non-scale corrections on gear possitions or stronger nose gear?
