Free ride On My Slow Stick! OnBoard Video!

2:40 Seconds, No Sound, Misawa AB Japan, GWS Slow Stick, Some Japanese Digital Camera, 8.4V 600AE Pack, Hitech Focus 3AM, HS55 Servos.

I'm sorry about the weired angle, just wanted to make sure the plane could handle this brick. Now i know it can i will work on a better angle.

Does anyone have any linkage ideas on how to hook up the camera with the rudder servo. So when i turn left it will snap a picture? I don't have a four CH radio or RX and i want to take some pictures.

Thanks. Better video and some nice pictures to come.

In the "old days" of film, I used a bent piece of wire, on the end of a servo horn, to push the button on a camera.

The wire was in the shape of a "J", with a back-bend at the toe (didn't want any sharp parts to touch the camera). It was about 2" long, and the straight part was attached to the servo arm.

I had to experiment to find the right length, and thickness of wire that would push with enough force to press the button, but wouldn't stall the servo, or break anything.

I think it would be easier to set up today. With a programmable Tx, you could set the end throw accurately enough to push just far enough to do the job.

Did your lolipop get stuck to you plane? Why where you licking it!

The second video is much better. You can correct the angle on the first vid with some free software that allows you to rotate the video and other basic editing stuff. I haven't used it so long I forgot what it was called, I'm sure someone else can remember.

Your flying site looks interesting. Was it a housing developement that fell through?

Thanks for the movies!

rahtware: thanks i will try that, i'll let you know how it works out.

Flying Taco: yup that sucker was good.

as far as the flying site, i'm not sure what it is. i usally fly on base (misawa ab) but during school hours i can't. so i have to drive around down town looking for a spot. that's really since most of the fields here are for growing rice, wheat or what ever. The site in the second video is really weired. It's about 30 to 40 little square blocks with streets on all sides, with these lil parks all over.

going to fly at the beach & from my house in the morning so should have some better video to look at, housing, watter & swiming pools.

have a good 1.

Cool videos, Daren! That plane seems to really climb quickly. That's especially noticable in the second video.
