More good news coming people about our new Boatshed.

We had a meeting with some Council people last week. Very productive and positive, although the surrounding Park work is still not completed and we still can't get to the front door....grrrrr rain and so soggy underfoot.

It's happening.

New Endeavour

Thought you might be interested in some photos of the HM Bark Endeavour replica, could not get on for a look around though the wait for entry was 4 hours.

It's taken far, far too long, but it's almost there.

Had an inspection of the new Tygum Boatshed yesterday with some Council people. They tell me that, short of another Biblical flood, it will all be finished by June 30th - that's the date by which the the Federal Government money for the whole Tygum Park redevelopment project must be spent...and our Boatshed will be handed over, we hope. We still have to sign a Lease over the property.

Bewdymate.

Retired for now
Super pictures Leethal. A real old boat that still floats is amazing to see. Or maybe she isn't so old. She sure looks ship shape though. Lets go for a ride. Pete

Sounds like you guys annoyed the birdies! The birds must love that pond, in the U.S. birds seem to have right of way over people doing things on the water sometimes. (witness two local lakes closed to water skiing)

Henry had his Hong Kong ferry at our clubs night time sail last weekend. The lighting is absolutely brilliant.
When's the opening Nick? I'd love to be there for that.
Cheers.

Hi Paul,

The official opening is going to be at the end of August....... I know, I know, it keeps getting put back, Council still need to spend a little money.....I don't have a official date, maybe Brian can chime in if he knows?

Henry's boat is brilliant at night, I've mentioned it before, he combines yellow and white LED strip lights to give the lighting a warm white look

I'm a bit disappointed I missed the Triple S day, totally missed it with the school holidays.

Cheers

G'day Paul, and all those who have been holding their breath.

The Grand Opening of the $2million works to the Park, plus our "little" $200k Boatshed, is now...

Wait for it...

Definitely...Saturday August 27th. Put it your diaries, although we will write to all relevant clubs.

Included in our presents package is a rather large floating pontoon which will have our exclusive rights to use sign for our regular sailing days, and for special events. A roof is due to be fitted shortly for the sunny and wet days. Oh joy.

I was in a meeting with Councillor Graham Able recently and the whole deal was settled by 'phone conference with all the relevant people for that date.

We take over a Lease over the Boatshed shortly and then it'll be ours to keep, although we have the keys and have moved in.

Apparently the Mayor, Pam Parker (I feel sorry for all you lot with ugly old blokes for a Mayor, ours is nice lady and a good sort) will be officiating. Pam came to our Christmas Regatta last year, meaning to stay for 10 minutes and left after an hour and a half....I think she likes me...oops, us.

One of our Members who wants to remain under the radar (sorry Ted Fisher) donated a huge gas BBQ on castors, so we now have meals on wheels.

We'll be having an all day and night sail regatta.

Poor lot that we are, further work to the tune of approx. $190k are in the pipeline for additional driveway, turning circle and launching ramp for bigger models and their roadworthy trailers. It's due for completion around the end of November, subject to weather.
