LMRA Aeromodelers 5th Indoor RC Float Fly-May 5, 2007, Keller, Texas, near Fort Worth

Dear Floatplane Fans,

We are cancelling this event due to lack of interest and scheduling conflicts. We did not get an indication that there would be enough pilots to justify the large expense of renting the pool facility and hopefully we will reschedule this event again in the future.

Richard Ng

The Lockheed/Martin Recreational Association (LMRA) Aeromodelers will hold their 5th Indoor RC Float Fly on Saturday May 5, 2007 from 2:00pm-7:00pm at the Keller ISD Natatorium pool, 1000 Bear Creek Parkway, Keller, Texas 76248. It is on the NE corner of Rufe Snow and Bear Creek Parkway in Keller, which is NE of Fort Worth.

The models will be electric powered and will safely fly indoors at speeds of less than 15 mph. Their maximum weight is 16 ounces with a maximum wingspan of 72 inches. Construction materials consist of carbon fiber, balsa, foam, cloth, paper and fiberglass.

Flying will be under AMA guidelines and all fliers will be required to be current AMA members. Pilotís landing fee is $10 and spectators fee is $1 which includes a raffle ticket for a model plane. All fees will be given to the Waterproofing of Children Program sponsored by the American Red Cross.

For information please contact Ed Couch at 817-777-6478 or Tom Blakeney at 817-777-1241.

May 5th is not far away so get those floatplanes ready soon.

Folks

The count down continues toward the Indoor Float Fly at the cement pond in Keller. For all you folks in the DFW area please sound off if you are going to be able to make it. Its a busy time of the year for many folks but I hope to see a good crowd both in the stands and on the pond. It has always been a blast and all the entry fees and raffle money collected is given to the Keller Natatorium and the Red Cross for the waterproofing of children. We have been lucky in that we have been able to turn over 800 + dollars to help the children. For the electric boaters amongst us, you are always welcome as well. Please come if you can and lets have a ball. ed
