One thing I'd like to point out. If you have a steam era ship then you need white smoke. If you have a diesel era boat then you should have no smoke unless your engine is shot.
The only time you should see diesel smoke is when the vehicle or boat first takes off. The smoke is unburned fuel from loading the injectors at acceleration. Once up to speed there should be NO smoke.
Sooooo! Why is everybody working so hard to show that they have diesel engines that are shot????? Pete
