Arashi, born to race !! CNC build thread

I ve been planning for a long time to build a Pusher Jet, one with real speed performances. Last week i decided to spend all my time on this project.
I found that the best would be a small one 0,6m - 22inch- wingspan and about 400g weight.

i began by making the 3d wiew of the model, using RCCAD, and i stopped on this drawing. I was ready for doing the CAD plan.

Then i had to think about the good wing airfoil, i choose a mh45 but i worked a little on it in order to have something most suitable for my Arashi.
Now i ve a good airfoil, and a 3d view, letīs make the cutting plans for my CNC foam cuter.
The fuse must be hollow in order to have a lot of space to put all the radio material and the lipo cells.
It gave me a lot of work on my computer but i finaly done it

the wings

it was time to work on the wings.
it didn t took a long time to the machine to give me all the pieces of wing
The shape of the wings is very smooth thanks to the CNC

Excellent work BDo000. That looks about as good as the big name manufacturers. Are you planning on selling kits or is this a personal build?

Thanks for compliment !!!
I ve just aimed too make a nice jet, wich can fly great and can almost be as well as those we find in Trade. And much more cheap !! At first this model is a personnal built, but I can provide some fiew for those wich are interrested to have one, just send me a private message

Letīs see how it looks like once all things are a their place .

my machine

i use a CNC foam cutter.
I ve got a CNC router "4aupc hobby CNC", to control 4 stepper motors, it also adjust the bow heat.
My machine has got 650mm course on the X axis and 400 on the Y.
It s realy nice to have such a good tool .
I work with turbocad for the 2d plan, RCCAD for 3d view, and my software is GMFC Pro.
Here are some pictures of half of my machine those are ones i took once it was on the point to be finished, now some improvement have been done on it, but i havenīt take any pics.

now i can show you a last picture before painting.
I use 2 GWS 6g servo, a 8 g yge12 controller, a diy 22mm brushless: 11turn star and 7*6APC prop more than 450g trust with 3s1p 1200 mah lipo pack
The Arashi weight 450g and i have more trust than that!

before painting i also decided to put brown paper reinforcement on the nose and bottom part which may be the most exposed during landing.
I also reinforced the ailerons with brown paper, i think it s much more rigid and it makes a good joint for air beetween aileron and wing.
I love to use brown paper for all my foam models, it can be sand very well, and it s very smouth after for painting.
I also sand all the plane after the light filler was dry, that s why some parts are still white

on this picture and the one before you can see that i have cut with cnc two access to the fuse in order to access easily to the motor and controller , and the other one for the receiver and lipo pack.

The arashi has proved excellent qualities of flight
It flys great and fast, with only 120W in, unlimited vertical with rolls, great accelerations in descent , a wonderfull style...........
I m very surprised with the speed performances, the airfoil i choose works really great .

Here are some pictures of my Arashi after painting, I am not very gifted in painting, but for me it looks good
Next time a video if the weather turns great
