first flight a disaster!! please help!!

Hi Everyone!

Unpacked and setup my brand new esky Robins 22 today.

Waited a while and accidentally flew the heli straight up into the ceiling! *&*%$&* hell!!

The top rotors broke and the body has a few tears but nothing major - also the stabiliser came off but I refitted it easily.

I have replaced the 2 top rotors and set it up again.

Things are not good!!

1/The heli sits for ages with the red led on constantly

2/The transmitter leds show red and amber with no greens( the aerial is fully out)

several questions;

am I likely to have damaged the rotor drive mechanism or are they robust? Is anything else likely to have been damaged inside ( wiring ?)
is nothing working because the NEW batteries supplied in the box are discharged so the transmitter is not powered enough to communicate to the heli?
Is the body easy to remove so I can repair it more easily.?

Please advise a newbie who is feeling stupid but desperately wants to get flying!!

Thanks

GAZZA

Hey, reckon you should have at least one green light on you tx, the cells supplied are crapola, cheap alkalines are good for 30+ flights, not sure about the red light, i'm assuming you doing the start up sequence correctly?

Hi
Thanks for reply- I reckon the transmitter batteries are the problem - I also think my transmitter settings have been changed - can you tell me the default settings for a right hand throttle
thanks

I have the throttle control on the right side - I am told this is mode 2.

I have switches below the throttle (normal/reverse)and also sliders in other places.

Can someone tell me where to go to see what the standard settings for my transmitter should be?

thanks

thanks for the info!

I have now got the bird working with fresh tx batteries!

I am finding the control tricky!!

Getting set up for stable hover seems difficult!

Any tips would be appreciated!

cheers

You need to get it about 3ft off ground for full stability, its own downdraft interfears below this (ground effect) but don't forget large objects close by will cause some instability, u just got to practise dude all part of the fun, recommend an ally rotor head to save your wallet/sanity
