Another year another F-100

Last summer I won a castle creations Mamba 5400 in a raffle. So a new F-100 was started . It is constructed of 1/4" fan fold Bluecore

Power Castle creations Mamba 5400 inrunner
Common sence 1000mh 3s 20c Lipo
Castle creations Phoenix 25 speed controller
Gws 55mm Fan
thrust 13oz Peak 11.7 long run
Wing span 28"
wt with tanks 17.3 oz.
wt. without tanks 16 oz.

Several improvements were tried on this version. in an atempt to keep the ele. from dragging on landing wing tanks were installed ( with built in wheels) Carbon fiber reinforcenent was added to the ele. The wing is a hollow semi symmetrical airfoil . this was my first attempt at vacuforming a canopy.
Thanks to J. Morgan for his thread on vacuforming canopies. As it's 11 degrees below zero today it maybe a few weeks till maiden flight

Man that thing looks great!

What plans did you use? How was the BC to work with? Any building details?

The plans are from fuel guys F-100 pusher Park jet plans modified for EDF. blue core is very easy to form cdebaca has a thread over in pusher jets "Hun F-100ss strikes again" it shows how to measure cut and fold blue core. the only thing I do differently is leave the plastic on until after I have formed the part. it will not buckle or crease.

Are you from the J. Morgan School of Modelling?
I thought it was one of his, at first.

Mr. Morgan builds some beautiful ACFT. But he likes to start with a big block of foam sawing and sanding until he finds an airplane. this method is more bending and folding with very little sanding.
I hope that the drop tanks don't cause to much drag. We never flew our 100s without drop tanks. It just doesn't look right without them.

Wow! Great job on the Hun. Ivor puts out some nice plans. I really like the drop tanks. Need to add some to mine. Good luck on your maiden.

Your probably ready to add a Violett F100 to the collection, and have a real biggie, with a plane that you like that much.
Would make a real nice small-to-large picture of F100s.

I hide in my cave under the house all winter. On Feb. 2nd. I come up if I see my shadow I go back down for another 6 weeks.

If I would have A violet 100 you would get to see it go vertical . Straight down ! Im too old and to slow to try to fly it. You will notice in the photo that very few of the intakes are undamaged

Too much ail. Not enough Pilot. I did a Sabre dance rolled it into the ground the good news is all the glue joints held so the only damage is to the nose it will fly again
