Price is TX without(!) batterie, RX and a switch only!

Looks more like $224 (without VAT tax) for
1 T6EXP transmitter, 2.4 G
1 R 606 FS receiver, 2.4 G
1 Mini switch harness

Even though I'm a Futaba guy, DX7 without servos seems to be a better deal as Futaba 6EX is too dumb of a transmitter.

I want to see if it plays nice with Spektrum. In their own words "narrow-band interference is suppressed". It doesn't say it will not interfere with other systems, only that the interference is suppressed. One of the definitions of suppress is "To reduce the incidence or severity of". ANY interference is too much in my opinion.

Also, I like new gadgets so would like to get my hands on it and add it to my collection.

As of the AMA show a couple of weeks ago it was made public that Futaba's parkflyer radio and Spektrum systems were incompatible - as in you could not use them at the same time.

Isn't part of the 2.4ghz fcc legal stuff that all 2.4ghz devices have to play nice together?

2.4 GHz says that they won't interfere with each other, not that they will work together. I think the statement was that you can't use a Futaba transmitter with a Spektrum receiver.

Looks like a Futaba 6 EXAS case but it has heli programming. 6 EXAS does not have heli programming.

Description says it is constantly frequency hopping which is a different approach from the DX6 or DX7, so clearly they could not talk to each other's receivers.

Bummer! I thought I had read that somewhere, but couldn't remember where. Looks like I may have to go back to the ham band again unless Futaba gets off of their high horse and starts playing nice. I would still like to see it for myself. If anyone knows where I can pick up one of the Futaba park flyer radios, pleas let me know.

Facts would be nice... But I can tell you there are enough DX6, 6102DX6 and DX7s already at my local club that the first Futaba 2.4 that shows up, asssuming it does cause a problem, will simply be banned.

Doesn't matter who's "right", only matters what was widely deployed first.


Anyway, hopefully, this is all whistling in the dark. They should co-exist peacefully at the same field, just like Spektrum co-exists peacefully with 2.4Ghz bluetooth, 2.4Ghz 802.11B/G, etc, etc. These have all been verified...

The key to all things leads to one word - upgradeable.

Futaba fell way behind on this market. I would not go from my 9c to the 6 EXAS. Yes futaba will sell many 6ch 2.4ghz systems, but I think more will be lost to people waiting on a upgrade for thier more powerful system. When people wait and there is a upgrade avalible they will buy the other mfr. product. The one time it is good to be on the consumers side of the market. Time will tell.
