Time for another motto!
Nice, is that an integrated canard up front? How did the glide tests go?

I like how the canard is only as wide as the fuse. Since it's not adding lift, did it help move the CG forward?

It will definately add in pitch and roll, but a second flying surface "canard" would move the CG forward. Since staticially the canard is nothing more than the crutch style horizontal fuse, I would 'assume' that the CG would remain unchanged, but the rollrate would increase. A canard could make the CG ALOT easier to hit. Right now, you have a bi-plane with a cg that is VERY aft.

If you completly remove the canard, then the plane does not change in level flight, so I do not see the canard moving the CG forward since it is the same as if the canard is not there if that makes sence. Basically, you have a canard that can aid in pitch and roll, BUT the CG is going to be hard to hit without the canard helping a little.

Good luck

Uh, yea you can add weight and put the CG wherever you want, but the airframe wants it in a specific 'zone' to fly correctly.

You can add a bunch of servos to the nose, that would just make the plane nose heavy, not change where the funny looking pile of foam wants to balance in flight.

Hi guys,
I think your all on the right track, I think it will have no effect at slow speed but hope it will assist with pitch control if it ever gets to fly.
As it is hinged at the front technically its not an elevon so i figure its a flaperon I will fit it with a seperate servo so I can trim it for level flight and rely on the elevons but if it works I may add it to the elevons to work in the opposite direction.
the naked glide tests work so I am adding conrols and will let you all know where the C of G ends up
I have drawn it on Auto CAD so if it works I will publish the plan its realy cartoon but very easy to knock up.

KC , I'd forgo the canard and use elevons .... simpler and more positive than an undersized canard/er,flap ...??? Great JOB .... Tons of Luck !!!!
CG will probably end UP around the wing LE...with all that horz. area forward....

Sweet looking so far.

I have seen this one tried before and not successful in flight.

So GOOD LUCK! I hope it works. I would love to see one of these flying.
