Little Screamers JetScream Alfa rotor adapter

I took rvincents advice and made my rotor adapter accept 2x 4-40 set screws 180* out.

After we programmed the machine and cut a perfect adapter, we saved the file since I thought of the many folks out there that could use one.

I'm not sure of proper protocol here on RCGroups, but I'm just trying to give back a little as I've lurked here for over 2 years and gained lots of valuable data.

If anyone needs one of these drop in replacements that are guaranteed not to affect rotor balance let me know.

Hi Rog, I would like one please.

I ordered the LS motor from HL with the adaptor, but no adaptor has arrived... do I need it?

Thanks

Wilson Co,
Excellent!!!!! We should post a link on our site for this hub I would like 2 please

Geo420,
Yes even with the adapter you will need a hub to fit the 3mm shaft. The adapter allows the motor to fit in the fan housing, but does not address the hub. The factory Alpha adapter is good, just needs to be drilled to 3mm instead of 2.3 or 2mm which ever it is, then cross drilled for set screws. With 4s applications, the loctite provided will not be enough for 60K+ rpm's

Rvincent, PM sent :-)

Geo.420-

I can get you one in the mail shortly. I'll run a small batch once the machine is free. Should have time on it tomorrow.

HL sells these for $6.50ea US without cross-drilling and threaded and the only thing I will be doing differently is supplying it with the threaded sides and the 2 required set screws. I threaded mine by hand so that takes a little more time.

Postage should be able to get by in an envelope... HL charged me 5.00 to NJ for 2 of these i think (uuggh).

Also-
I don't suppose it would be required for me to include an allen wrench?

Let me know what you think.

Thanks
Rog

They started shipping motors fitted with adapters yesterday. If you ordered a JS and an adapter together, it's most likely on the way to you now

OK-

I have recieved numerous pm's and seen lots of ?'s still in posts on how to use the LSJS in alfa fan.

for those who expressed interest, I will be sending these with clear instructions on how much to cut off the shaft in an alfa fan and how to install.

So-
You can buy the hobby lobby one or mine for less (after HL shipping), and have piece of mind that it won't come off unless you want it to!

As an fyi I am looking into making these out of delrin to take some of the rotational mass off the motor :-)

stay tuned for more on that

I will be working tonight in the shop to get a first batch done and hopefully mailed tomorrow..
