Sorry no. The wing was broken in 3 places, All the motor mounts were broken, nose canopy smashed almost flat (vertical dive straight in)front of fuse crumpled in and broke at the wing. From the trailing edge to the tail - perfect for mounting on the "Wall of shame"

Sorry for your loss. The USPS should have control of your canopies (goodluck).

I do have 3 sets of parts for other interested parties, and flyingfoam (under new ownership) is still cutting the foam.

Canopies received and build is beginning - slowly but surely. There have been a few people over the years asking about how to mount retracts. My old B29 had Spring Air retracts which worked fine. For my new B29 I'm going to use Eflite 15-25 sized electric retracts. The pictures show you what I've done.

Very nice idea on mounting the nose gear, and thanks for sharing. Would you do better to make the mount wider and having solid sides to get more gluing surface?

Also, how did you make/where did you get the dual wheel mount? Very cool.

I'm getting too old for hand launching planes, so I may have to modify mine, or build a new one.

Jim,
Great idea! I had given it consideration when I put the gear in and saw that the axle just overlapped the sides. I've got a new box to glue up now. The box will not only be glued to the fuse cut out but I'm also adding bulkheads leftover from the canopy mount to help stabilize the entire nose wheel box.

The dual wheels are simple. Best way to describe it is with a picture. I bought an assortment of "E" clips at a flea market a few years ago. I think you can get the same thing at harbor freight. I took a steel shaft and cut it to length, then cut a groove in the ends using a dremel cutoff wheel. Chucked the shaft in my drill press, then used the dremel tool to cut the groove to the depth where it would accept the E clip. This saves a lot of room versus using collets.

Updated nose gear box dry fitted into fuse with canopy. I have 2 bulkheads left over from cutting the canopy mount rings out. These were cut out to fit the nose gear box. Think I'll make the front a 1 piece design

Ok, I have a question. I started trying to lay down the foil tape on the plastic nose cone and I can't get it right.

I started with the bottom section that is solid silver by cutting 1/2 inch strips and trying to lay them down from the rear to the front but they started getting pretty messed up.

What's the trick?

I can do all the thin strips no issue.

thanx in advance..
