Are the kits still available? My father in law worked on the Typhoon Goon and would like to build it for him as a surprize.

Reviewed your website and was wondering what comes in the full kit?

Hi Hawk,

The full kit comes with vacuum formed nose, nacelles, full size plans and instructions. I have two full sets in stock and some spare noses. I got another inquiry yesterday, so you might want to act now.

I have my parts coming from Jim; cannot wait to get started. Need your input for what covering to use, which servos you guys have used. Also is there a good source for decals?

My Dad flew B-29's off Guam with the 20AF, 314th Bomb Wing, 29th bomb group.(Square O on the tail). I have pictures of him and his crew. Thought it would be nice to build a r/c version to honor him. I still have one of his flight suits, flight bag with all the manuals, etc and his Gruen wrist watch with the stainless band.

Dad was the last survivor of his crew - we lost him in May 2008.

That's neat

That's neat that you are building a plane to honor him. I'm sorry he won't be able to see it fly again. Those guys are my heroes!
I got to know a gentleman here in town that flew 33 missions out of Siapan as a tail gunner on the B-29's. He and his brother (waist gunner - same crew) are the only ones that came home from the war.
It was such a neat experience to get to know him and you should have seen the look on his face when he saw the plane. He said it was so good to see that plane fly again. What a neat guy.
Anyway - that is one of the great things about this hobby - far more than just flying airplanes.
Best of luck on this adventure - they are a neat plane.

You'll love Jim's kit. It's very easy to put together and to detail. I made waterslide decals for mine - Use the USAF Amarillo font for your "O" ( Attached)

Your kit went out on Saturday. I still get a lot of interest in my B-29 when I bring out to a show. There is always a veteran who has a story about a B-29 it seems.

This was my last set of parts in stock. I do have two spare noses and an unlimited supply of plans.

Just finished an order for the remaining noses.

No rush to get them shipped, wanted backup noses in case I dork it into the ground.

Dork it!!!!..... Don't even think about it.....

I have been flying mine for 8 years or so now. It has a few scratchs but still steals the show every time it goes up.

Am using A123 cells now days.

Hi Ettore,

The WW44 is schedule to appear in Flying Models some time this Spring. I don't have an exact publish date. The short kits will be ready when it hits the news stands. Apparently there was a rash of Golden Age Racers/Planes so Frank is spacing them out and I'm at the end of the list.

As far a B-29 kits go, the foam is cut by Flyingfoam.com and you order directly from them, and I've just been offering the vacuum formed nose and nacelles. Because the nose is such a deep draw, I have them professionally made. The B-29's are a slow seller, and I don't plan on stocking parts. it took me a couple of years to sell my last batch, and that's a lot of money to lay out. If you are really interested, email me and I'll see if I can get one or 2 sets of parts made by my supplier, rather than 10-20.
