Thanks for the tip Bomber guy! I just scored a few "Winnie the Pooh" Jax sets with domes for the side windows.

Bomberguy - that B24 is so awesome looking...

SRush99 - When ever someone revives this thread I almost pull the trigger and get one of these short kits. Was is a pain to get the foam, plastics, and plans together? from what I remember it would require ordering from a couple different vendors. How'd that go?

It was easy. Jim sent the plans and plastics in one box. I ordered the foam from FlyingFoam.com which took about 2 weeks to receive - He places your order in a queue when he receives payment. I ordered balsa, etc from Lonestar Balsa from the wood list on Jim's plans. Quality of everything was great.

My only complaint was that 2 of 3 suppliers were in Texas so I had to pay sales tax!

LOL - I love it.

You realize that you've made it even more difficult to resist!

I'll have to wait and see what happens with my latest build. I'm ready to throw it into the fire.

thanks for the info!

Thought I'd give a progress report on my B29.

Wings covered, installed a set of Spring air 603 retracts, cut nacelles out of foam to be a bit more scale. I recently built a vacuform machine and cut out a cowl plug from balsa. I've pulled 4 cowls and have everything mocked up on the plane. Just have to cut the inner engine bottom rear nacelles and I'm ready to start glassing the foam. Lot's of trial and error but I think I'm making forward progress now.

Cowls are pulled out of .030" clear PETG. I need to find some paint that is close to chrome.

Great pics Bomberguy! Exactly the details I've been looking for. I've been thinking ahead to the shape of the tail gun ball and how to add it to the back of the plane. As I mentioned before, I built a small vacuform machine and plan to build a plug for the tail.

I'm re-thinking the main wheels as they may be a bit wide for the nacelles. I want to use 2" wheels but narrower than the ones I have now. Nacelles are 2 1/4 wide and the wheel assembly is 2". Based on the proto nacelles I've made, the side walls might be weak, possibly even when I put glass on them.

It's been a while since I posted - slowed as I was carving nacelles, covering them with aluminum tape, selecting a power system ( gave up on speed 400s ) and making cowls with my home made vacuform machine!

Hre's a couple of pics. Still need to install the ailerons ad add a few more panel lines and rivets

Please, more on your power system when you have time. Randy
