Also how do you attach the nacells? I was thinking of finishing them with the alum tape, and just taping to the wing with the stuff.

I plan on adding gear, and will post some pics of the set up I'm going with when I get that far.

Here is a shot of the fuse being joined.
rcav8r2,
You join the nacelle with CA and lots of kicker. Thats what I did on mine and to this day, three years later, they are still holding up fine.

I attached my nacelles through the front of the nacelle with a small screw. Can you see the small screw on the front of the nacelle in this pic? DO NOT cover the entire wing with aluminum tape. It will be VERY heavy. I used chrome Ultracote and burnished the surface with 000 steel wool. It looks very authentic. Keep it light and keep it simple. No need to re-engineer this plane to make it fly well. Take it from me, Randy L. and Steve Neill.

I finished my nacelles with Flite Metal. It took about 16 hours total for I cut each panel individually as close to scale as I could, then added rivet detail.

You just had to do that. Now I'm going to do it when and if I ever get time!

Fantastic Perry.

More closeup pics.
The tail section I covered with Flite Metal. A mistake for it added a bit of weight to her. I won't do that again but you can see how I burnished each panel to simulate the different cladding.

Okay,
I forgot this shot. If you look to the tip of the motor mount, you will see a half moon ply disk mounted at the forward bottom of the motor mount. THIS is where you will screw the nacelle onto.

Rudderman;
THANKS for the tips for the nacells. I planned on putting a stop on the front of them for the motors, so that will work well for securing.
I only planned on using the alum tape on the nacells, not the entire wing... crome Ultracote for that and the rest of the plane.

Anytime.

You can also use the alum tape on the nose as well. It conforms better that anyhting else on the market. I think Steve Neill used it also. Tim61 took the pictures of the nacelle panels and nose panels from a B-29 here at Boeing Field. If you go a few pages back, I posted a few pictures of T Square 54. There you will find some good pics of the real deal. I'll post one here so you can get an idea of the separate panels you will need to get if you want to detail yours that far.
