Looking for an off road buggy

I have a max of $200 spending money for an electric RC car, this money is for the car, transmitter and batteries.

I'm looking for a buggy style car.
I have a Hobbico MKII charger with 12V 5Amh sealed lead acid battery
I'm looking into the following battery for the car,

I'm looking for long run times so 3,000mah is a good range to stay in i think.

I have a transmitter for my planes but it looks like most of these cars come with one.

I want variable speed...not like 3 step speed control and steering must not be the type that only turns all the way....can't stand that on my older car...

any suggestions?

I am selling one that is a great deal. It comes with the truck (car...I will explain), radio, upgrades, electronic speed control and I will throw in a battery pack.

It is a Tamiya Stadium Raider. Now before you jump and say "that isn't a buggy" let me explain. It is based on the Tamiya TL-01 chassis and that chassis is used on buggies and on road cars as well as trucks Tamiya makes. It is 4 wheel drive which is awesome as well. Basically it is a buggy with a pickup body on it.
The TL-01 chassis was used in the Baja King and Baja Champ buggies as well with wider suspension arms (called the TL-01B) which I have.

The truck was driven less than two hours total and here is what you get:

Truck ready to run
Full ball bearings
Radio with steering servo installed
OEM Futaba speed control good for 13+ turn motors
Peak Performance 23 turn modified motor
Longer suspension arms and axles to make it a TL-01B
Oil shocks still in package
I'll throw in a 6 cell battery pack too

If you want something to play with, race with, tinker, or upgrade, this thing is for you. It can be like it is as a four wheel drive off road, widened for off road, lowered since the chassis is used for rally cars and on road, raised with big tires as a monster truck if you get new tires and rims.

Yes, I am REALLY trying to sell it. I need money badly. I currently have it listed on ebay. The starting bid out there is $125.00 plus $25 shipping on it and there are no bids or $150 buy it now plus $25 shipping.

Let me know. Here is a link to the auction with pics.

thanks for the offer but im sorry, I cant buy now.

Through the years of owning my own credit card, I have gone a little overboard with it and not having a job for about a year now my money has gone down to a minimum.

basically, I cant put ANYTHING on that credit card..I only have about $600 left and need a job badly.

im going to head over to home depot, Lowe's, and have already sent in the resume for Best Buy

I am just looking at what to get for now. I will be buying months from now though.

im also planning on building a new computer which will cost 2,000$...so more saving to do for that as well but my current computer is starting to go and I really need something good.

I am an aero modler who now wants to try off road cars as well. Need help from the pros on this forum to know if my choice is good for a start.

Looks like a good first Car.

The only things i would suggest is get a bigger MAH battery 2000-3300 (longer run time)
Change the radio to a Pistol Grip Radio like

Have not played with any of the buggy type cars but that package is a good starter

Only question would be do you want a smaller rc car?

the first car you looked at is 1/10 scale
the second packaged car is 1/18

I agree with the previous post, you should decide if you want a 1/10 or 1/18 scale before buying. I know the 1/18 may not do as well in grass if that is where you may want to run it, they need smoother surfaces.
The Duratrax Evader buggy and truck are good ones to start and under $200 for the RTR models. Worth a look but they still need a battery and charger added to get them running and that would bring them close if not over $200.
Also, take a look in the for sale area if you are planning on going with a kit. There are a few people, myself included, selling pistol radios with receivers and a servo for a great price that will save you some money.

Thanks, actually here in India we would mainly drive it on mud or sand , flat surfaces.
No grass as such. Size is really not a problem .
I already have a Charger which could handle any type of batteries
Thought the Duratraxx Vendaetta wouldget us running early since its an RTR with all the works thrown in
