free flight plane to RC Autogyro

I got this plane from a friend for xmas, and flew it..., it flew ok, but i wanted to make it RC. so i was thinkin for a while, and decided to make it into an autogyro. it is going to have a 300-400 motor, and 3 servos. 1 for rudder, and 2 for cyclic. i dont know what blades to use, but i was thinking about getting blade CP ones for now.

any tips would be greatly appreciated

thanks,
alan

hmmmm BCP would be wayy to small you need something like lepton blades.... but still it looks way to heavy anyhow, i hate to knock it out, but this is simple physics

The photos show servos installed. Have you tried to fly this airframe with RC and the stock wing? I would suggest that as a first step. If it flies well as an airplane, you'll have a good chance with a rotary wing. If it doesn't, you'll save yourself a lot of aggravation by finding out early.

I'm not as bad as they say.
Why guess?
You need a disk loading of 1.25 ounces/square foot/blade.
If you're going to do three blades you need a disk loading of 3.75 ounces / square foot.

I'd take Ari's advice, fly it as a plane and if that works swap to a rotor.

Aeryk, The WS is only 20 inches, lepton blades would be quite large on there. BCP, or maybe some Shogun blades would probably work.

Never know until you try though.

I could recommend Aerobalsa or Slow-G blades, but I would seriously encourage Alan to test with the stock wing before I reommend anything rotary for this setup. It will take almost no work but will clarify a whole lot.
