2nd Annual Plainview, Texas Electric Indoor Fun-Fly - April 28-29, 2007

Hey, Everyone!

I want to announce the 2nd Annual Plainview, TX Electric Indoor Fun Fly!

The date for this event is Saturday and Sunday, April 28-29, 2007! The location once again is at the Ollie Liner Center in Plainview, Texas, 2000 S Columbia St (47 miles north of Lubbock on I-27). This facility is 302' long, 136" Wide, 15' at roof base, and 25' at the peak. So it's BIG! We will have one area for oval and another for 3D. We had great reports from last year of how well this flying site worked, along with the separate flying areas!

We will be doing our famous RC Carrier landing as an event again this year. We all had a lot of fun with this last year and sr71fan can vouch for that! LOL!

Flying will be from 9:00am to 10:00pm both days. AMA membership required, along with a $10 per day landing fee which is used to pay for the rent and sanctioning fees. Concessions and RV hook-ups are on site and will be available at the event.

20oz. weight limit and max 3 cell LiPo (or equal NiCad/NiMh) power pack. Aircraft that exceed this limit must be approved by the CD. Docile aircraft are likely to be approved.

Tell everyone you know and come have a lot of fun with us again!

More info to come, so keep checking back or call Reegan at (806) 285-2445.

Hope to see everyone there again, along with some new faces,

Hey Guys! Great to know that y'all are going to make it! Glad you had fun last year, Gary. We are right there with you. It will be another great time not only to get the "gang" together again, but with double the flying time too!

Mike, we will make sure to put the dividers up just for you! LOL! I think all of us had as much fun watching you play with them as you did actually doing it! And we will even let you tear them down at the end of the event again too. LOL! Good luck at Chitty! We hope you do awesome!

We are off to a great start,

This looks like it will be a great event. Dennis R. said you may be putting together quarterly fly-ins at the Ollie Liner for about $30.00 or so per participant. If you do, count me in, I will gladly drive from Amarillo for some indoor flying. I bet my brother in Plainview would also be interested. Who knows, Dennis may even drive up from Midland a time or two.

Hey, Mike!

Dennis, told me that you might be coming to the fun-fly. It'll be good to see ya! I was telling Dennis that we are looking at starting a club mainly for the purpose of being able to fly in the Ollie Liner Center without having to pay for sanctioning and insurance each time we fly. We punched some numbers and found that if we had 21 members at $35 a piece, we could fly four times a year (2 days for big event and 2 other days throughout the year) and all club members would fly free for those days. For every 5 more members that join the club we can add another day of flying to the list. I will be talking more about the details at the event.

Pics From Last Year

Hey, guys!

Here are some pics from last year's event. Some of them are a little blurry cause they were pulled from a video camera. We were having so much fun that we forgot to take stills! Thanks to sr71fan, fwilly, and Bennett Barrett for their pics, too.

March 24th Flying Day

We have secured this same building for March 24th (9am - 10pm). Pilots will share the cost of the $150 rental (probably $10 each). AMA membership required.

This is an opportunity to have fun and get ready for the April Fun Fly!

Hope to see you there!

Great, Mike!

So far we seem to have quite a few people coming. This should work out great for those new pilots or pilots who have never flown in the OLC.

See you at San Angelo,

Hi Folks...

That single day in March sounds exciting to me, as I have planned to come to the April 2 day event, and crash (land ?) on your carrier...

With an indoor, swing wing TomKat !!!

Two different sizes of my design have been flown indoors (swing wings and all), in a gym, by Matt Keennon, so I have a good start.

I have swing wing TomKats flying now, from 2oz to 10oz (19" to 41" wingspan, extended), and am reworking this design to make it even more compatable with indoor venues.

The March date sounds good, to come out and find how "full of it" I am, and make changes for the April two day event.

I will be coming from Bellflower California, on a motorcycle, pulling a trailer full of models (a lot of Aero Ace equipted planes, also).

Looking foreward to March.... Now, if my GPS does not get lost...
