Build Log

BAC TSR-2 Foamy anyone?

Hi guys, this my new obession.
I drew modified plans based on Steven Wong's balsa design drawings.
ACROWOT'S TSR-2 is built along the same lines, however it's made out of balsa
and has an over sized wing.
I'm going to stick my neck out,and go with the scale wing.
May need to "bungee'' launch it to get it up to speed but it will fly!
As is... AUW= 2lb 11oz (without paint)
Mega 22/20/3 8x8 APC
Phoenix 80 ESC
Two TP 2070 Mah/11.1 in parallel
Wing loading at 23.2 oz/sqft
Wingspan25''
Lenth60''

Very interesting Anthony. I think a bungee launch would be prudent.

say no to the bungy....with enough thrust even a bus could fly. Looks good glad to see you finally making progress on that thing. Is that a true airfoil is see there? ps happy new year bia

44'' long wow sounds like you got an oversized wing!lol anyway thanks.still got alot of finish work to do but it's starting to look the part. This thing up close looks mean!My wife says it looks like an angry bird!
Ah the green foam is GreenGuard PB4 CCS 1-800-876-8464 they supply Reno .Tahoe.Vegas .Phoenix area with this type fanfold never made the call it's all over the place here in Vegas on the jobsites. If you can get your hands on the stuff you will not build a fuse out of anything else.I won't!
The X-2 is still a bat outa hell!

Good to hear from you!Thats what I was thinking to get this thing up to step.
What do think of the wing load?It will go up with the finish. It should stay under three pounds.I may prop up,still got some caculation to work out on the power draw.

Anthony,

Iīm doing fine! And you?

It was nice to meet you on the flying field in Vegas.
I missed your X-2, over there.

BG J says: 5 x airplane weight on the bungee, for the takeoff.

A-5 with one eye closed,and squint I don't know maybe,oh yea I see it.
I have this thing with all white airplanes they never seem to get into production!I think thats why I'm so intrigued by this air plane it got sidelined by political bull but it's a done deal. This is such a great plane it needs to fly again!
