On Christmas I received a Sig 4 Star 40. I intend to build it and have it ready to fly in the spring. My hope is that this blog will serve as a build log so that people who are interested can see my progress. Yesterday I started by getting a table and a piece of foam form Home Depot. After that I pinned the plan down, and set to work on the right wing panel. Progress was good for the day, but I ran into a problem with the right panel trailing edge. The plans stated the measurement, but somehow I got confused and glued the wrong size sheet in place. After discovering the problem I gently jiggled it back out, and re-installed the correct one with no problems and minimal damage to the wing ribs. Current work is on the balsa sheeting for the right wing panel and this evening, I should have that pinned down and drying.
