Power for the Big One

Hi Martin

I have not decided yet, but I am flying an Extra 300 with 32x GP300cells on an old Graupner Ultra 3500-8 and a 16x10 APC-E

It goes like a "bat out of h......" with some +1600 watt !!!!

So i might use the 32 cells in the big Cessna 180 with the Plettenberg "washingmachine" HP 370/40/3.
It runs a staggering 17x10" prop on a direct drive with 32 cells and apx. 50 amps, so therefore I will be able to fly with a scale 3 bladed prop 16" !!! NOT BAD....

And the good thing about the big "washingmachine" is that it also goes very well on 20 cells with a larger prop. So I can actually fly with either 20 cells for pleasure flying or put in the 32 cells for towing gliders.

Just cannot wait !!!

Hi Lutin

The small C-180 is from Mountain Models (look it up on the internet). It is a fantastic kit - BUY IT AND BECOME A HAPPY PILOT.

The BIG ONE is built from plans and is an all balsa plane covered with glasfiber, sanded down, riveted and paintet. Looks very scale !!!
