Yep, life is tenuous, fragile and scary. My boss of the last few months works in New York, he lost six employees and a dozen or so friends last September eleven; my colleague here was schedule for a ten-thirty meeting in the ninty-something floor of one of the towers, had it been nine-thirty he might not be here today, he was on approach at La Guardia when the plane was diverted back to National here in DC, and coming into National the Pentagon was hit so he was routed out to Baltimore - all the while not really understanding what was happening. So many stories...

I moved from the Bay Area, CA to DC two years ago and love it here. I worked up north for six months, flying into and out of La Guardia once a week, the attached is from one such flight. I would always grab a window seat and just sit and stare, flying from DC to New York is just wonderful; just flying is great, even if one never leaves the ground...

Yes, life is delicate and fragile, to be savored and cherished, and protected and guarded, we shall not forget...

i thought this was an electric-RC group.
do we really need 9-11 "god bless america" type postings in the newsgroups? it's already plastered all over the media today...

It's only a couple of posts. Since you're in Seattle WA, maybe you don't understand the impact it has had here on the east coast.....(so far everyone who posted is close by)I understand that this can be posted somewhere else, but try to be a little more understanding. It will be gone before you know it

Yup, you may be right, but at times like these it isn't so unnatural a desire to step outside the bounds of any group subject and express a few words about what's going on! Many folks here have exchanged views on R/C and electric planes so it's natural enough, especially here in the DC area where the F-16s are buzzing around and we have anti-aircraft missiles in place. Just down the road here some hapless chap strayed into a no-fly zone and was forced down in a local airport by an F-16. Scary stuff...

I fly a lot for business and as often as I can with whichever of my R/C planes is in a flyable condition at any time. All of us here share an affinity with flying and judging by the work I see here there is a high degree of imagination, couple the two - a love for flying and a good imagination - and most of us can relate well to what is happening, it is frightening and sure keeps me awake...

And there it is, I kinda guess I needed to just say something, it helps to talk...

Hm, here on Germany they were showing those ceremonies and stuff... but I'm much more far away so my opinion is that you can't bring people alive with that but everybody should take care to let not that happen again... I would say GOD BLESS ALL PEOPLE!!!
Don't know what you think about that, but that's my opinion and the opinion of many, many here.
