Help!

Something Broke in my 4-in-1 (c28)

Hi,
there is a rectangular component in my 4-in-1 that says "C28" (just above the Crystal.
Does anyone know what this is cause it's broken after a fall
and i can't find it anywhere?

TIA,
Antonis

P.S. My 4-in-1 is of E-sky's Lama 2 V3

Deletedfor proving Nauga wrong
If they used typical circuit board labeling... that would be a capacitor.

You can't just guess about the "value" of the capacitor to replace it... A wide range of capacitors can be the same size. hopefully there is enough left of the old one to read the value off of it. It should have some number followed by uf or pf.

If you can take a pic of the board, pointing out the broken part, someone with the same 4-in-1 could read it off of thiers.

I fixed a whole bunch of e-sky 4 in 1 for a local shop.
I don't remember the marking but it's probably the resonator or the discriminator.
If it has 2 leads it's the discriminator.

Hi,
Thanks For the replies. Below I have some photos which will be a bit more explaining.

On the PCB it says "CF2", maybe a ceramic filter? i don't know..

Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Antonis

It looks like a lead sticking down on the left side in the picture - is it a through hole device? If so, is there enough of the other lead left to solder a wire on? If so, you could just solder on a wire, put a glob of epoxy over the connection, and re-use it.

Antonis,

OK, well for what it's worth, I think its a 455KHZ ceramic discriminator. They are used in many rc devices and rc toys. Here's a link:

I have one that you're welcome to. If you want it, PM your address and I'll get it in the mail.
