2006 Tony Nijhuis 72" Lancaster

At last!

RCM&E magazine teased us this month with the news that the Lancaster will be featured in next months issue (Jan '07).

Improvements include:
  • more scale outline
  • new canopy & turret mouldings
  • 3 bladed props & spinners
  • plug in wings
  • full length operating bomb doors
  • lighter grade of wood in the CNC pack resulting in weight saving

I purchased a copy of the plan and plastic bits off Tony ages ago from Ebay and have been waiting patiently for the CNC pack as I'm too busy (alright, and lazy), to cut the kit by hand.

I am considering getting 2 sets. The other for PSS or for modifying into a Lincoln (because we made them where I work).

I missed the eBay offer and have been waiting also for the official release of the plans,CNC pack, etc. Can't wait. I will go all out with this model to make it the pride of my fleet!

Cheers,

must surely be about time for the Jan 2007 issue to come out about now?
No sign of it in the shops. And their website is down...
I'm pretty keen to get hold of this plan / pack.

I was so annoyed when I bought the december issue because of the picture of the Lancaster on the cover and read inside that it would be featured next month.

Does anyone have the web address for ordering the plans, CNC pack, etc? Even if it is down (why would that be at this time of year?) I would still like to bookmark it.

Cheers,

John

The RCM&E website is supposed to be www.modelflying.co.uk
It has a big Coming Soon on it, but that's all.
January 2007 issue should have been on sale on the 15th of December.

I'am still waiting for RCM&E to go on sale too but after some digging I came across this, a contact number so you can order the latest kit of parts:

Magicalia: 01689 899228 or 01296 730691

The ref is RC2039 and costs 115 inc (UK) postage for the plan, CNC parts & canopies etc, they say it is already in high demand!

You can still get hold of the 2001 version from here too....if you want it that is, 70 plus postage for the complete pack ref RC1892.

Out of interest, RCM&E was published by Highbury Nexus (who kicked off the 2001 version of this Lanc), Highbury were then taken over by Encanta Media who kicked off the 20O6 version of this Lanc in Dec 06, Encanta Media has now been bought out by Magicalia.

Funny I've had the magazine for a week now, must be rcm&e usual reliable dispatch. The company that makes the cnc parts is Slec UK i think. Here's the site: http://www.slecuk.com/

Not sure if you guys are aware but the detail of the build etc within RCM&E is spread over the Jan 07 and Feb 07 mags and not just within the Jan 07 mag, the December 06 mag just has a taste of the Lanc to come.

To all a very Happy Christmas and all the best for 2007!

Is RCM&E available anywhere in the US? I can't find it locally. Is there anyone in the UK that might like to purchase and post both issues to me? I can PayPal anyone who'd like to help.

Thanks and Happy Holidays to all!

Hi Mike,

If you contact 'Model Shop Leeds' on 01132 646117 and pay via credit/debit card they will gladly send/post you the Jan issue of RCM&E which has the start of the project, the second half of the project is within Feb issue, have not seen it on sale yet but think it is due to go on sale around the 19th of Jan.

I came across this thread which might be of interest/useful to you guys, it is an online build of the old 2001 version of this Lanc, other than updated parts the build of the 2006 version looks very much the same, sad ending though!

Alright,

I've just ordered the wood bits for mine. I tried all last week on the phone numbers listed above but they just rang out.

Today the girl informs me it was holiday week. You reckon they'd change the message for us mugs.

Thats quite a few late nights & international calls made for nuthin'.
