You can get Aero~Nuts motors here:http://www.aero-nuts.com/product_inf...roducts_id=554
They come from China so expect about 3 weeks delivery. I happen to fancy the Model 4 boom from Boomtown Hobbies: http://www.boomtownhobbies.com/category_s/39.htm I have the one on the top (black). Mike. |

Your link worked. I was just saying when I searched before I couldn't find them, but the link took me right to them and now I know what to look for in the future when ordering. After reading everything about them here in the forums they seem like the way to go. Too bad they're no longer $6 a pair.
I did read someone say they're good for about 50 flights. Is that really correct? I'm a little saddened if that is all I'm going to get out of a pair of these larger brushed motors. |

Anyway, I have gotten anywhere from 55 flights to about 74 flights. This all depends on flying conditions, time of year, condition of your heli, etc. (yup, some of us are too lazy to change out gears shafts that we know are bad, etc). Gotta get that flying time in I consider myself an aggressive flyer so, if I get 65 flights or more, I'm a happy camper (did you see my recent vid? Page 495). $15.00 is not a lot of money for a pair of Aero~Nuts considering what is out there. Xtreme motors are big $$$. I would be hard pressed to go that route. I'd rather go BL. Mike. |

Thanks for the info Mike. Yeah I'm staying away from xtremes now after reading up on the aero nuts motors. Sorry when I was talking about bigger motors I was speaking in reference to all my experience with brushed micro helis. I've had a few go bad but my msr had 100's of flights on it with the stock motors. So that's what I was meaning when I said bigger motors. Just figured I'd get more flight out of a pair. At least 100 flights. Oh well, I'll get over it.

You should easily get better than 70 flights. If I remember, I believe some members got 100 (in that area). I'll have to check out the V4 thread. Jack might remember.

Here is some chit chat on the V4 thread on the number of flights. I got a lot of hits but, it's mostly talk of the Aero~Nuts and nothing solid that I could find.
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...t#post18956739 Just to let you know how much I like these motors, I just installed a set June 22. I have four new sets awaiting their turn Mike. |

jl, you have to go outside just before sunset, when the wind dies down, and stretch the CX3's muscles a little. You'll enjoy it.
The tail is going to have some vibration no matter what you do, it's just a question of how much. Anything and everything in the drive train will be aplified and the gyro will pick up on it and make it even more visible. Just get it down to as little as possible. I have the Boomtown shortened flybar. I originally bought one to get out of "porpoising" on my Lama 4 = go ahead 10 feet, it stops and levels, go ahead 10 more feet, etc. The shorter flybar comes with adjustable weights. You can adjust them to just about any flybar length you'd like by loosening the set screws and moving the weights. Just make sure each side is equally distanced from the center. You don't cut the flybar length, just move the weights. Congratulations, boys, we've gone over the 500 page mark! |

You'll have to either use your old flybar link or buy some. They don't come with the flybar. CX and V4 are two different sizes so be careful when choosing.
@Jack, I'm nearing the 50 cycle mark on my 3 Rhino 750mah. I trashed one in a crash when it was still fairly new. AARRGG @LMH, Please don't forget to give that link to those bearings Mike. |

Thanks Chap. I did notice that when reading in the site. Your post reminded me of another question. What are you guys using as the battery mount? Stock? I plan to purchase some more lipos. I'll probably go with gens ace 800 2s. There super cheap and I use them in all my planes and they work awesome. The problem is all the lipos I've seen on line look more shorter and fatter than the stock eflite lipos. It's like they are very specific for fitting in the battery mount tray. So how are you guys mounting lipos that have different dimensions than the stock lipo.
I've been looking at the super skids to replace stock skids |

All new helis come with the arms cut to fit inside the canopy. Once you get a decent swashplate you'll be able to get longer servo arms. If you put the longer servo arms on with the stock swashplate, you'll eventually separate the swash. It just won't handle the throw. This is the kit I bought. You can get two sets of arms from this:http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/EFLRSA100
As far as your spacing for the canopy, I use fishing tackle tube. The tube that comes in different colors and stiffness. If you'er a fisherman you may have some on hand already.. I threw in a pic of the famous "bullet mod." Mike. |

Has anyone at all tried the xtreme led fly bar v2? I can't find a single bit of information on it. . It looks cool and there is one video on YouTube, bit other than that there's not a single review or any information. I think it would look great, but I'm not willing to lose stability/smoothness over it. It does seem to be a bit shorter so it should fly more aggressive. I think I'm just concerned because xtremes products have tended to be hit or miss in quality/design.
