Barnyard,

You stated that you have had a CX for a year, so I would assume that you tried tweaking the proportional pot to compensate for that drift!? If applicable, also try playing with the gyro gain pot if your tail is twitchy.

The tail is not twitchy at all. I have not had a chance to mess with pots, and I really thought that the CX2 was hyped to fly without having to!

I agree with you barnyard, I figured they improved it also. Seems to me that the only upgrade is the dsm. You can dial it in to be as good as the CX. It takes a little time playing with the pots. I have found that backing off the gyro gain totally then dialing in the motors. When its flying with minimal tail input I then adjust the gain to my liking.

Good Luck

Joe

Well I tweaked and tweaked the pot adjustments as finely as I could, but I still get a left nose drift at the start and a right nose drift after a couple minutes of flight.

I can fly the CX2 OK like this, but I don't like to. I guess I got spoiled by the HH gyro on my Trex.

I will have to say that I can feel better control while flying the CX2 around when comparing it to the CX. It seems to fly more like it's "on a rail".

Wow, I guess I should consider myself lucky. My CX2 is running perfect even after the numerous crashes. The body looks like crap and I broke prop after prop but I love it. I'm flying inside and out.

Ah ha, then the dwarf must be the pilot on this once since he was demoted from driving your bikes.

Aluminum Swash and Lower Head

I am looking for an aluminum swash and an aluminum lower head for the CX2. Horizon is out of stock. I found a non-anodized swash at heli hobby.

Does anybody know where the the BLUE anodized aluminum swash and lower head are in stock?

New cx2 love my cf boom!

Hello all, new to rcgroups.

I picked up a cx2 about 2 weeks ago and I've been having a blast. I didn't like how much plastic is in the rear and I saw the carbon fiber boom mod on e-bay and picked one up (model 1 from jamie at boomtown hobbies). It looks great and flies great.

It's carbon fiber, doesn't feel heavier than the stock tail. I didn't have to adjust forward trim at all, the tail size and weight counterbalance exactly right. After putting it on I felt like I could take off faster but I have no way to quantify that unless I weighed the old and new tails, and I don't have any scale that precise.

I have the same boom setup on my CX, and CX2 I got from stersman as well. didnt affect CG on mine at all.

I like the quicker tail response now, as there is less mass back there. I actually had to turn down the gryo some
