just Some Useless Geek
"Genuine Spektrum," heh, heh, heh. One Chinese vendor over another one. To be honest, I've had more receiver problems with "genuine" Spektrum kaka than I ever had with OrangeRX from Hobby king. After putting over $1K into "genuine" Spektrum I switched to OrangeRX for all the rest of my planes, and have yet to spend over three bones, I think. (It's hard to spend a lot of dough when receivers cost $8.)

I really don't like Spektrum stuff. Their radios aren't really all that good and the receivers are as I described. The stuff just costs way too much and wHore Risin' isn't interested in being price competitive. Not interested in playing, thanks anyway.

Just out of curiosity, I wonder if this design could use elevons on the main wing and a vestigial tail with no control surfaces. IE, a flying wing hybrid.

Honestly this has seen so many variants over the years I am quite certain it’s been done and possibly here somewhere...
I’d look through all the pics and/or better yet, click “search this thread” and type elevon. I just did and there’s a few in different styles already posted.

It would work as a flying wing design if build flat. Although, it would be just another flying wing, not something special and limited in it's aerobatic capabilities.

The Dart, like the NutBall, does not require elevons or ailerons They are 'designed' to fly almost as if it has those features. About the only thing that suffers in the way of advanced aerobatics is inverted (possible) and knife edge.

He who stalls....falls!
I seem to be going around and 'round in circles building Darts.
Is there a cure?
(V-tail sounds like a good plan)

cheers

Has there been any design evolution that actually improved the plane over the original? I know there have been a lot of fun variations.

I’d say a simple proven design like this isn’t made better, just made different. Just check all the PDFs of which there are many.
