I bought two kids kites from Dollar Tree , used the long rods for pushrods ..... and the short rods plus kite's dihedral joiners for wing reinforcement . |

I wanted to see if the entire thing could be made out of a single layer of paperless $TFB , so everything ( wing , fuselage , tail feathers ) is just a single layer . I reinforced the wing with the 4 shorter fiberglass rods that come in 2 $Tree kites , and used the 2 longer rods for pushrods . The fuselage is open on top where the wing sits on it , and has one bulkhead in about the center .

The fuselage is 2" high and 2" wide in the front , and 1" high and 2" wide in the rear . It is 30" long , with 1.5" of elevator sticking out the rear ..... for a total length of 31.5" .

well. after 4 mo. moving from Ark to Mo, we're finally settled enough to go flying. A huge empty public park about 15 min. from here. Put my Slo Stick in a tree (again).
It seems that the only models I can fly without going in a tree are ones I build myself under Al's guidance. So... will it be another EZ Fly or a Smart Dart XS? Cheers! Jim |
