Swift II from MS Composit?

http://www.mscompositusa.com/cat~2-swift.htm

Anybody have any experience with these? There was a vendor at the JR Indoor Festival that was selling them. The graphics on them look pretty cool.

I've got one, but it's a Christmas pressie from my wife so I have to wait a few weeks I got "RED DART"

There's another thread HERE With a couple of flying video's. The second vid is great but the link is wrong, when you get to the page click on this video "Asa_19_Agosto_0001.wmv" .They look like they fly nice, and being EPP they can handle a few knocks. Can't wait 'til Christmas day

I bought one at that show $35.
Flys a little slow with a BP21 and 8040 prop. I have an 8060 prop on order, hoping that will add some speed. I had to add some weight to the front to get the CG right with that motor. Still a fun plane, and its catch able.

John,
been eying these too...are the graphics tape like covering or printed directly onto the epp?

Also, do they have a spar(s) of any kind?

thanks!

The graphics are very nicely done, printed right on the foam. Very nicely cut and finished. The wing is very thick. It doesn't have any spars but they do call for some tape reinforcement.db

Sure, I'll give it a go. I still have to get a RX and a couple of servo's but I should have them in a week or so.

My wife is getting me one for xmas.

Btw SIM69, does it come with a motor or any hardware?....the site is a little sparse on info.

Also, could you possibly weigh the cores if you get a chance?

thanks!

2.9oz or 83grams. No electrics just motor mount, elevon control horns and servo pushrods with tubes.

Yes there are 5 cut outs under the wing for battery, receiver, speed controller and two servo's. Although you'll definitely have to enlarge the battery one but I suppose thatís so whatever battery you use you get a tight fit.

The battery compartment is a perfect fit for a TP 730 2S or 3S. Depending on your setup that very well might not be enough battery.

If you don't want to put a brushless motor on it, put a Johnson 250 brushed motor on it and run it on a 2 cell lipoly. I have one on my Frenzee and it really moves out. I use a cheap GWS esc on it. These are inexpensive, but very powerful little motors. You can get one from BP (Balsa products) website for about $2.50. I was going to put a brushless on it but feel no need to do so. As long as you run the motors on 2 cells and not 3, they will last a long time. Just be sure to put 3 capacitors on it to control possible glitching.
