Chilliwack Spring Classic Electric Fly-In - 2002

By Martin Hunter

As Martin Hunter shows us in this report, this year's Chilliwack Spring Classic Electric Fly-In was a quite nice event, and many fantastic planes were shown and flown by some of the top modelers in the hobby today.

Well the where should hopefully be obvious (if not professional help should be consulted!). When is usually in May for the US President's Day long weekend. Start building now. BTW NO more scale German WW1 aircraft will be accecpted!

Mike, ya gotta bone up on our U.S. of A. neighbour's holidays! It's the Memorial day long weekend in May, Presidents' Day is in Feb. And just wait till you get that little SE5 in the air, and we'll see about "air power"

jkolp: The event is always at the Fairfield Island RC Site, in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada, which is about 3 hours drive North of Seattle, Wash. There is a Spring event in May, with prizes, trophies, and a BBQ, and a late Summer event the last weekend in Aug., with a more casual attitude, no prizes or trophies. Both attract a lot of great planes and pilots from all over the West Coast of Canada and the U.S., but if you want to come from Indiana, you're certainly welcome, and a cinch for the "long distance" trophy!
