48" EPP 3D foamy

Here are some pics of my scratch built 48" 3D Foamy.

Flight testing this weekend.

The planes all up weight with Hacker A30-12XL, 4-HS 81mgs, CC45 and PQ 3S 4400 is 44ozs.

WOT should be about 37Amps with the APC 14X7.

This is the first prototype and I have already decided on some changes for the second version.

The main expense for this model is the motor and radio gear.

Build 2 Bounce!
Hi Viflyer,

It's nice to see a big EPP foamie

Thats certainly a nice setup you have in there. Good luck with the maiden dude!

It looks like a contender for the EPP contest here :

I'd love to see some video.

Happy Flying,

Unfortunately, we just had a cold front push down through PR and the VI and the winds are picking up out of the NE. Just finished mowing the field so maybe, just maybe, things will drop off enough by late this afternoon to fly.

Wish I was REALLY good with the sticks so I could give the plane a throuugh evaluation, but I am a learning 3D pilot. Actually, that's the reason I built the plane so I would have something larger than my small 3D foamies that would be almost as crash resistant. I figure a hard nose-in will produce an easily fixed break away at the leading edge. Hopefully I won't have to test that theory!!
