Goldberg Pitts Model 12?

Anyone tackle one of these yet?

Hobby Lobby reccomends a AXI 4130/16 on 6S 3300's.. Just wondering what you guru's thought that setup would fly like?

5330/18 sounds like it would work.. I am thinking about trying one of the cheaper Hong Kong variants..

Jeff,
Here is some experience with the 5340. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=583850

Milton has been pushing it to 3k. Seems to be doing well. He is running it on a 27% Extra. There is some video on there that I shot.

The 4130 is too little for that model..the other motors mentioned here seem more appropriate

Mike-

You think that motor would work well in the Pitts? I was a lil' afraid it would be too large..

Just looked at the specs. 13+ pounds with electric? For this plane I would want 2000-2300 watts.

4130 on 6s is only 1000 watts.

I think of the 4130 as the electric version, more or less, of a glow .60.

The big Pitts 12 is a .90 to 1.20 model.

If you want an even BIGGER Pitts 12, check out the new Cox Models 27% version. Link below. This gives a 72" upper wing span, vs 60" for the Goldberg....but it costs twice as much as Tower sells the Goldberg for.....

I'm flying the Great Planes 1/3 scale Pitts. Flying weight is 15 lbs. I'm using a Hacker A60-14L on 10S LiPo pack. Swings a 20 x 10 prop. great flier.

I am actually seriously thinking about converting the new ARF Cox/Pica 1/5 scale Waco YMP...that is a really good looking bird. 72" upper wingspan.... It was recently reviewed for glow power in MAN.

It needs power similar to the Monster Pitts, so it would be an Axi 5330 or the new Eflite power 110 or a similar Asian outrunner.

My lady freind gave me a World Models 1/5 scale Minimoa sailplane for my birthday, so I need a cool scale vintage electric powered glider tug for my cool vintage sailplane!
