Globe Swift

Try Aerodyne Online, Cleveland and John Pond plans services, use a search engine. Cleveland offers plans in various scales, you have to substitute sticks etc. of proper dimensions to match enlargement. Cleveland designs are well adaptable to electric power due to traditional stick and former construction.

Hello R. Green
I have a set of Earl Stahl plans for a rubber powered Globe Swift. The wingspan is 20" but can be enlarged. It is stick and former construction and would be easy to convert to e-power. If you are interested, I can email them to you.

The Cleveland 1/8 scale 44" w/s Swift looks like a good project geared 6v S400 on 9 500AR cells.

Oops!

Link doesn't work, go here and find search engine , under manufacturer, scroll down to Globe the hit go, it'll take you to two different versions and will show different scales and wingspans. IT series are simplified, others are super scale.

FWIW:

Another plane similar to the Globe Swift is the North American/Ryan Navion.

Earl Stahl did that one also. But larger than the Swift.

Bob Holman has the plans and laser cut parts for the Stahl Navion:

Has anyone seen a Globe Swift in an ARF version? I would really like it if they did...

Two left thumbs
No ARFs, since it's not popular enough for the "consumer" types. Why not hop in with the rest of us and build one? There's plenty of help getting the job done here. Get stuck? Just say so, and half a dozen experienced builders will answer!

The Plans Page has the Stahl Swift, Navion, and gobs of other nice Stahl and other designs.

Attached are a couple of pictures of my Ryan L-17 Navion that was built from scaled up Earl Stahl plans. If I recall they were enlarged 50%. My flying buddy Ron and I have plans to to the Globe Swift from Earls' plans as soon as we can find the time.

Geared speed 400 3.75 to 1 (GWS drive unit) on 3S 2100 LiPo. Very nice flyer. Looks great in the air.

If I'm not mistaken I saw this plane at a meet in Easton ,PA a couple of years ago--the Lehigh Valley Club's event in June.
A beautiful piece of work.

And another good short kit design update project for the likes of Pat Tritle.

I've built a scaled up version of the Earl Stahl plan, you can find that thread here by searching for "Globe Swift". I'm not going to link the thread as it wasn't one of my finer moments of communicating with others in the forum. It wound up as "shelved" as at the time the selected motor was waaaaay too much and the batteries waaaaay too large/heavy. But it's still in one piece ready to be tried again.

Hello! Just brought the Charlie Richard 1/4 scale Globe Swift plans along with the fiberglass cowl and short kit. I'm having lots of trouble figuring out a material list so I can order rest of balsa and plywood for stringers, etc. Know of anyone with a meterials list of who could help. Thnaks.
