I was able to maiden my MFX today. It sure is a nice flying plane. I still need to work out the throws and rates, but it sure is a floater. I got her up for about 5 min. as the wind was picking up, and the sun was going down. the TO rollout was about 20' but I wasn't giving it full throttle. Other than a few snap rolls, I didn't do much other than lazy circles to trim it out. Landing was easier than anything else I've flown. Just get her in the glide you want and manage the power to put her where you want her. In the tall grass I can even get it to "bow" like the late Jimmy Franklin did with his mystery ship. I'm certainly looking forward to flying it more. The best part is, you don't need much of a runway for takeoff or landing.

Congrats on your first flight.. my batts are all charged up, the weather looks good, so as long as the honey-do list isn't too long in the morning, I should get some time in. I've been fighting glitch problems for a month or so, now I've replaced the motor, esc, receiver and added an external BEC this better cure it! (not all of that was the fault of the glitches).

I am using the 12x6E prop and 480/1020. I do not know how much throttle I am using for hover. Never really paid attention. I think the 480 has great power for this plane. The Jeti Spin 33 should work excellent. Wish I had one actually. I weighed mine a while back but can not remember now and scale is gone. Youu may have to upgrade the batteries if you run the 480 motor. Maybe 30 amp burst capable battery

I will have to do some testing again to verify amps and throttle setting. I have the Castle Creations 35 amp on my MFX. I wish I had the Jeti. I hear they are good but expensive.

I don't see the carbon fiber reinforcement rods on either of these last 2 planes. Did you leave them off for a reason?

Looks like he's got something on the underside. I flew mine the first time without. Didn't seem to be a problem--till I put it in a hover. I saw some flutter and it reminded me of the carbon supports. Whoops. All is well though.
