this plane may be my new love! it such a great looking airplane! i am sure it will 3d and pattern fly with ease! ITS EXACTLY WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR! it may make a pretty present under the christmas tree! hmm time to sweet talk my parents for a full setup on one of these babies with 4 hs-65 servos, 40amp esc E-flite and a 480 outrunner by e-flite and a berg 7!

we will see what happens. Scheduled release date is in 2 or 3 weeks! keep your eyes in the hobby shops! Lets make this the official build/ flying thread when it comes!

aww man thats too bad. e-flite is comming out with some awesome looking airplanes very soon. I am getting into the pattern balsa planes, so the e-flite planes are pretty much what i am looking for!

Still think ill stick with a KatanaMini, unless this turns out to be super-awsome and all, i just need to keep them small for my small flying field (backyard).

I personally think this might be better than the katana mini as it has aluminum landing gear (stock CF katana gear is pretty weak) and probably more rudder authority than the katana, with a thinner airfoil and more wing area. I like my katana alot but it could benefit from some updating and changes just as easily as the MF did.

isn't the katana a little bigger than this plane? I think this one will be awesome! looks great and hopefully will fly great.... It looks like it has a ton of rudder which is awesome. I also like the SFG on the wings. those can easily be removed, but i like them... I think its neat how e-flite is making big hangar 9 planes smaller for us park flyer electric guys!

I liked my Funtana, but the landing gear block was extremely fragile. I ripped the bottom of the airplane out on what was not even a very rough landing. There's no way it sould have hurt that airplane at all, but it pretty much wrecked it. If they have beefed that up I will get a Funtana X, but if not, I'll build something else.

But, I am curious exactly why you are finished with E Flite. I've had tremendous success with the Mini and 25E Ultra sticks, and my new Mini Pulse came out of the box and flew hands off with no trim at all. I slapped it together and it flew perfectly. It's hard to imagine being displeased with that that kind of package, but everyone is different.

That katana wing is only 40" I think. The MFX is 43". Not sure about the wing area though.

Just everything I have ever got from e-flight, turned out to be less than desired...thats all and this is my opinion (I have heard theses opinions all across the board also).

Plus I believe ballance in life is esential...If you love something you gotta hate something. E-flight has fullfilled that nitch for me .

I really am developing a love-hate relationship with E-Flite.

I have a brio, and it is great... however somewhat dissapointing due to bad marketing. It is adtervised as a 3D/pattern ship, however if you can get that bird to 3D, you're a better pilot than me. As a pattern ship it is great, its higher wing loading makes it awesome for windy days as well, but 3D... no.

My GF's mini ultra stick? Blah, if you like the best of no worlds maybe. It wont 3D well, yet is too heavy to bea fun touch n' go machine. It flys with no bad habbits, thats the only praises I will sing of it.

On top of it, I have had nothing but trouble with the quality control on e-flite/Hangar 9 products. Without fail horizon has sent me new parts when I found defects with mine, but I shouldn't have to get them in the first place.

In the end, it all comes down to what they make: if they make a plane that is good enough to make me go through the possible problems assosciated with their stuff, I'll buy it, but only then.

From everything I've read and heard their new pulse mini is a very nice flying aiplane---lets hope they're on better tracks!

well the brio 10 is meant to be a pattern/3d plane. It will pattern fly very well with a 480 outrunner. You need to use the recommended power 10 to 3d the thing. it gives it a ton of power... I have seen it done before. My buddy had a 480 for pattern, and a power 10 version for 3d flying. The 3d one was bad ass. My friend is also a very skilled pilot.

the mini ultra stick is a sport plane that is not meant to 3d at all. if you can get that to 3d, you may be my new hero!

I would think that this new funtana comming out will be a good flyer. I have never flown the mini funtana but i have seen it fly, and it looks awesome. basically a regular funtana. I think it will have similar characteristics to the mini funtana, but fly a lot better.

This is a nice looking airplane. I like what they're doing with the hatches now. I too am skeptical of the flyability of it. I had a brio and it did fly great pattern and I'm sure with enough power and a very skilled pilot it will 3d but it was heavy and if you weren't ahead of it it would bite you. I think at 109 dollars this is a bargain. It sounds to me like they are improving their planes and I will give it a try as I already have the equipment to try it. The pa katana will no doubt be awesome. My only question is what motor and batt are they suggesting?
