RBC A4 Skyhawk
Hey Guys!
I just got an RBC A4, and unfortunately there aren't any instructions in the box. I know this is an older RBC kit and the instructions are minimal at best. But some written guidance would be helpful. Does anybody have these instructions laying around that aren't needed that could be sent or emailed to me? I've also looked at the old build threads and picked up some good ideas and pictures. Very helpful! TIA for the help! Cheers! |

maybe try Markos at warbirds, he might be able to get you a set of the plans.

To anyone that has built this kit, I have a couple of questions. I've just started building this kit and I've assembled the nose pieces and was wondering, there are 4 of part NF3 (the part that angles inward). I've looked at other threads and can't find the answers.
Q1. Do you use only 2 of them, or are they laminated together so that there are 2 per side? It looks like the top part of the fuselage would be too thin with only one per side. It's not very clear on the cross section on the plan. Q2. The rear former, NF4 is a solid piece. Do you cut out the middle of it after shaping the nose? I assume that you need to for battery access. Q3. Do you shape the nose before gluing it to the middle fuselage section or after? I'm very excited about building this model and want to make sure I do things right. Thanks for the help guys! |

Yea, I'd do it again as I really like to build from kits vs. ARFs. The RBC kits are nicely designed, but the instructions (especially on their older kits) aren't the greatest. Basically, the A4 has no instructions, just some notes on the plans. I've also got their F22 Raptor and F100, and the instructions are a LOT better. If you like to carve and sand, and carve some more, and sand some more.....the A4 is a rewarding kit to build.
Hornet is still in the wings. My hobby time has been really low over the past several months. Lots of Honeydo's and a few months ago, I was having a lot of numbness in my hands. Come to find out, I've got Carpal Tunnel in both hands which has had a major impact on all things. I'm having surgery in a couple of weeks, and hopefully things will get back almost to normal by the end of June. You really don't appreciate your health until something happens and for a modeler, not having your hands at 100% is a real eye-opener! Fortunately, I don't have any problems flying. Most people that I have talked to who have had the surgery, have been very happy with the results. So I'm hopeful that it will work out. |
