Gemini FT160 in an Xtra Wot?

I have a Gemini FT160 Twin and am contemplating putting it into a Chris Foss Xtra Wot.

Anyone here done that before? Is this a sensible plan?

Any comments gratefully received...

Best wishes,

Welcome to the forum.

The Xtra Wot is a great plane -- I've had mine for several years now with an OS120 4-stroke in it. That's too noisy for our site, so I'm putting a new OS120AX engine in it, which is much quieter.

Performance with the 120 4-stroke was plenty for me. Chris Foss told me he had a YS (I think) 140 in his development model. I reckon a 160 twin would be great.

I presume you're an experienced flyer ...

Thanks for replying.

I was just a little concerned that it may be a little too powerful! However, there is always the option to keep the throttle closed!

I am an ex-experienced flyer - i.e. I have a lot of experience a few years ago with both fixed wing and heli. A fair bit of R/C aerobatic time and now, my full-time occupation is teaching real pilots advanced aerobatics in real aircraft!

Aside that, can anyone recommend a large spot scale type such as a huge magnatilla or similar that would make a nice ship to chug around behind the 160?

Best wishes,
