Twin Boom electric for AP - new fuselage

This is a new fuse for the orange and black twin boom I have been using for AP, I was getting heat buildup inside the fuse, as ambient temps rose (a month ago) the ESC would shut off. I was getting close to maxxing the 40 amp ESC out already. I made the entire fuse a tunnel and a big exit for the air just below the AXI. I get great airflow even static with the motor running, if this hadnt worked I was going to buy a 70 amp. It flew great yesterday, this fuse is a little shorter, balances good and flies great. I also switched to bolt on wing, I hate rubber bands!

Yes, he got me hooked on that color scheme, that wing has been on 5 different planes, three crashed leaving the fuses destroyed but the wing survived unscathed every time. Weird.

Thanks QB, Dan and Tom.
I think I already have a client interested in some rural acreage shots. He saw the test flight and was about as impressed as I was.
I thought Id lost him, we had talked a month or so ago. A flying buddy of mine said I went into a different mode when I found out the guy was a realtor, "business mode" I guess youd call it.

Those are great looking planes, almost exactly what I've been thinking about building. Could you furnish some dimensions, airfoil type & motor size. What type of material are you using for the booms? Looks like your not running rudders, how does it fly? Do you need much runway for takeoff and landing?

Airfoil is a Clark-Y, the wings are from the Tower Hobbies Trainer 40, the booms are of balsa, 36" from leading edge to elevator, Grey Ghost has an OS .32 helicopter engine, the Mantis (Orange/Black) is running on an AXI 2826/10 using 4cell lipolys at 3500-4000 mah, takeoff do need to roll out a bit, they fly very stable and predictable.

Thanks for the info, I'm going to start on one as soon as I can get the parts together.
Another question, how does it glide, how long of flight times are you getting?

FYI Just thought I would post this.

I read up on the clark Y, I think the tower hobbies wing is a flat bottom.

"This is the real Clark Y – Clark Y for men. There is no such thing as a “flat-bottomed Clark-Y”. If you ever hear anybody say “flat-bottomed Clark-Y”, you now know they are pufters and that they are talking of a home made Aquila type airfoil – i.e. a flat bottom and a curved top – you instantly know that they are aerodynamic ignorants compared to yourself and their aerodynamic wisdom is what you read on a box of cereals every morning. The Clark Y is a real airfoil with curves like a lady and just straight enough to be a joy to handle on a flat table."

Airfoil Type
Flat Bottom Slow, docile, forgiving, poor inverted flight
Semi-symmetrical Good lift, penetration, aerobatic, and inverted flight
Symmetrical Best aerobatic and inverted flight

I had a feeling when I posted that it was wrong, I knew someone would correct me if it indeed was wrong.
They both have a flat bottom trainer wing, I hate building wings so I use ARF wings, takes less time.

Other than a few positive ordinances under and behind the LE, the Clark Y is considered a flat bottomed airfoil. It is not under cambered, it is not semi or fully symmetrical.
