Does a 3 channel micro RTF exist?

I recently got hooked on flying with an Aero Ace I bought on a whim. However, I see it's limitations. I need an elevator.

Ideally, my dream plane right now would be an Aero Ace with an elevator and rudder. Does something like this exist? Would it be possible to mod an existing micro RTF off the shelf to three channels?

Are you limiting the modding to using the existing gear that's in the plane? If not, I don't see any reason why you couldn't use a micro rx, a few actuators, and a different tx and just make the AA a 3channel craft. If you check through the forums, a few people have already done it.

If you want to use the existing hardware in a plane, the closest I've seen was the throttle/rudder AA here: http://www.falcon1.net/~ars/rcmodels.html
Considering it's only a few dollars worth of parts, it's probably the best you have, for the money. As long as you stay in range, you should be able to turn your way out of most bad things that would happen.

If you are flying the AA biplane, give the AA Jet a try. It does not have an elevator, but it is more dynamic than the biplane and you can get it to do some cool dives, zooms, something like a hammerhead, and a high-speed low pass. The Plantraco gear is cool if you are willing to invest some real money in it.

You can do it with several RTF receivers (Micro Invent, minor, plantraco, etc..) but you will need a computer radio to mix differential thrust, unless you wire it for traditional 1 motor, elevator, rudder type.

Joe on the Indoor and Micro Models section makes custom made micro RTF's. His latest example was a sweet Zero that weighs less than 4 grams. I suggest you check the last few pages of that forum.

Those cox planes would be pretty tough to fly for someone that's never flown more than an AA. I've heard they're great for experienced pilots though.

Well, that's kinda what I'm looking for; something that flys like a real plane. Looks like it may be worth the investment.
