Yeap

Correct setup is key when installing servos and linkage...in fact the life span of your plane is greatly increased if done right...
I use the SERVO EXCITER to aid in setup it is a great investment for duplicating such things as flaps and aileron positions on the install work bench handy tool...fwiw.

301 was bottom driven

If you look at the 2m and 100 Exxtreme's, that is assuming the 301 MPH 100" Exxtreme is what we are talking about. There is a full servo cover on the bottom, the flaps are bottom hinged/bottom driven, and the G10 or carbon horns are as big/tall as will fit under the servo cover. That way the linkage is very stout, with good geometry.
Same basic set-up that has been used for years on slope racers in the USA, but with taller horns, and with some variations between builders.
I believe the top driven/bottom hinged flaps are more common on F3B/F/J as the elimination of the servo cover aft end, on the bottom, reduces drag, but not a big problem for DS so far.

Hope this helps,
Brian

Hello it is me Brian ...Alan...Yorba Linda hack...
Anywho, no 100 inch Extreme here....
Just a couple of NYXf3f planes and such.
Oh yeah and an Opus with Top drive....
Gary is however working on my Extreme....hopefully
Since I have your attention...are you making the 110 incher available for mere mortals to purchase? Not for the backside just frontside flying?

Bottom drive ya say?

My guess the servo would need to be sat a ds 3124 to handle the load with g10 horns big enough...flapless is starting to sound better
