since these are just sorta-scale feel free to get creative...modify the fuz shape (most needed on the SU),and the wing shape to get it closer to the real thing..
How close you go depends on you... use the cog positions from the start of the post, just adjust/scale them for the size you builld

heres a couple of pics for shape and color..just ignore the canards on this f15 version

SU-27 built!

Hey, I built one of your SU-27 foamies!

My final weight was 10.1oz
2.75oz - plane assembled (foam only)
0.55oz - two HS-55
1.60oz - 1300kV CD motor, mount and wires, GWS 8x4 prop and prop mount
0.18oz - Rx LiteFlight 4ch
0.50oz - 12A ESC
4.30oz - 1300mA 3cell Lipo
0.30oz - pushrods, control horns, velcro

Included in there is 0.3oz of hot glue (3 sticks at 0.1oz each)

I'll be running a 8x4 GWS prop. I could probably use a much smaller motor and battery, but I'll use what I got. For the moment I only have the elevons hooked up. I'll try to fly it this weekend. I might hook up the ailerons later, it depends how the first flight goes.

Wow! It (SU-27) flies great! More than that it looks awesome in the air!

Cut the ailerons. Elevons only do not seem to work on this model.

IMO the CG of 4.5" ahead of the horizontal fuse split it way off. Start with 4.0" ahead....... just my opinion.

the best response is using the aileron and elevator linked as on the original ikarus version ...
it seems weird having both go up or down on the same side at the same time, but it works well

cog location is variable, best for a safe foward location on its first flights then move it back to suit your preferences

Here are some construction views with a rough model to show how the thing is put together... obviously the shapes are only rough here, but they can be modified for any jet profiles
the sketchup file is included for your use
