For Sale

Russ Thompson DC-3 PSS Fermin Sled $200

really dont want to but gotta sell it.. vet bills bit me on the butt and now need to generate a few bucks... so im selling this rare beauty that i havent even had the pleasure of flying yet ....

Built by Bill L and from his original For Sale post

Quote:
have a Russ Thompson DC3 , plane needs minor repair, a rough fermin landing generated a few cracks, I think all can be chased with some thin ca and it airworthy again
I paid $250 for it with the servo's already in there... look for the same... like bill mentioned that there are a few cracks, none are structual... 1 is the fillet area stress cracked, and 1 at the tail fillet... both have had thin ca wicked through them...

need money ASAP so if you know of a buddy who might be interested please let them know.. Thanks

(Pics are also from bill L's original F/S thread)

It has an rg14 airfoil, it weighs about 115oz, and it is a rocketship
another from Bill L's original thread..

Yes its heavy but it is a 60" Wing with a LOT of wing area... so yes its gonna like the big air, but it will fly on those not so EPIC days..

I've seen this airplane - it's beautiful. If I hadn't just bought an RT DC-3 fuse I'd be all over this one.

ive got a few PM's... this is a 60" Wing... A LOT of wing area (But i dont know what the loading would be???)...

although it would be a GREAT fermin plane, for slopes i know i wouldnt hesitate to fly at Vincent/Grass mt/ or Cajon..

Also, i am selling this LOCALLY... at 60" span and the rest of it, its HUGE and would be OUTRAGEOUS to ship...

JOe-

I think the wing is @ 500-550 sq inches, if I recall. They can do the math. Bigger DOES fly better, though, so the wing loading would feel lighter than the same loading on a 48" PSS plane...
Hope that helps,

Target

If the area is aroun 500 square (which looks about right) then the loading is about 35 oz/sqft. I wish it were a bit lighter I'de even snap this one up. But at that loading it would need a really good day at Cajon for me to chuck it up there. It's a good weight/loading for Fermin though. You can't hardly beat the price. $250 is a steal for a decent Fermin ship. It's easily worth twice that much.

and in that spirit and the need for cash NOW...

200bucks!!!!!!..... 200bucks is CHEAP for this plane... SO SO cheap.. especially for something this rare and out of the norm.
