Rod - so you still haven't painted it after how long?

Atindra, please let me know how it goes! BTW, is your Panther still flying?

What all up weights do we have for those who've finished them? Mine was 1.6kg(ish).

Now, where are the other 20 or so F104's? I know of 3 that are flying, but the rest? C'mon guys, it's not such a scary plane when you get used to it!

Stu.

We just need more kits for those of us who have come late in the game

Hey Gordito(Bill), some day this thing will see air under its wings..Been dinking with other projects..rc and a full size J3..and 175..just need to put the batt cables in and paint it....Owell it drags on.
Scott.
PS the retracts seem to work OK..the gear is a bit slopy and wont completley retract in to the fuse but still looks pretty good.

Hi dan,
Here goes..............
Stu's CG location of 250mm forward of the fuselage joint between front and rear works well.

All Up Weight (AUW): 57ounces/3.56lbs/1.61kg

My bungee is 15' of the red heavy duty 7/16" OD stuff. I stretch it back '28 paces' for the F-104. Just a plain vanilla rail launcher.............

Control throws, etc:
Ailerons +/- 9mm
Stabilizer: Measured at the leading edge of the Stab at the fin.
High Speed +4mm, -3mm with 30% expo
Low Speed/Launch/Approach +/-5mm with 30% expo

High Speed level flight Stab trim is approximately 5 degrees angle (leading edge nose up) measured off the upper horizontal panel line on the vertical tail. Slow flight/Approach trim is approximately 2mm Stab leading edge down from high speed flight setting.

Picture is of high speed level flight trim setting.

Haven't weighed since the rebuild, maybe I'll do that today & report.
-Mike

thank you very much for the information, your auw would be very helpfull. need to make a launcher to give us enough room for correction if needed This should be very intersting. As atindra says " we do not allow any hanger queens!"

looks very nice, time to make up bungee setup..

thanks,
dan
