Arizona Slope festival
hi guys, just thought i'd make everyone aware about the arizona slope festival.
it will be a 3 day event, well 2 1/4, registration for the event will start on friday and you can fly on friday, but we won't have a radio impound then.
the contest/funfly includes:
unlimited MoM racing
60" MoM racing
an all for one combat contest
30" MoM racing also, see end of this thread for more info
there will be a pilots raffle and an announcer and hopefully my sister will be there taping it so there might be a dvd.
there will be a radio impound and there is a nice landing zone. but there isn't much room on top of the mountain so we will have to carpool up the mountain, or if you have a 4 wheel drive you can get up the mountain.
last time we were up there a year ago we got 62 mph winds. and i have been checking the forecast and it looks like it's gonna be pretty windy at 45 mph this year. that is a long distance forecast though. we'll see.
the entree fee is 5 dollars for the 3 day event, there will be water and soda available. and hpefully there will be lunch available on top of the mountain.
as far as i know you are allowed to camp out at the electric flying field.
the event will be held in Flagstaff, Arizona.
it will be held on sheba crater. there is a real nice landing zone for moldies, it's just not the biggest zone in the world. and it happens to be right behind the cars. maybe we could have people park the cars on the sides, so that the landing zone could be in the center. there will be a couple vender tents on the mountain, offering servos, receivers, battery packs, plane kits, rtf airplanes, and servo gear sets, we should have you covered. we would like to get planes donated for first plane in all of the events. if you would like to be a sponsor of this event, please pm me.
it is free to become a vender you must bring your own tent and tables.
theer will be time for moldies and planes that cannot do combat. and there will be time for combat and sport flying.
so this means if you have an airplane that you dont' want to risk flying through the middle of the combat gaggle. then please tell em so and if there are enough moldie and woody fliers, then we will have special sessions of like half hours and stuff for the not epp planes. we will have battery's avalable for charging, and hopefully a few chargers will be loaned out for charging. i will have a tent full of supplies there for anyone who needs them and i will also have a portable ramada for shade.
i am setting up the website right now.
if you are interested and want to come fly in this event please post your name and channel.
we will have a channel list so no one should be shot down if we can help it.

Here is some info, pics and a map showing the Sheba Crater flying site (from the Flagstaff Flyers web site:
Ryan: I fly 40, 50 and 60... mostly 50. I can switch crystals if we have condflicts.
In the meantime, if anyone want to go flying at Sheba or any of our other sites, let me know and I will join you. I will plan on flying my LEG one design in the races (the fast wing) and my Ritewings and Bees in the combat/limbo. Le Fish will be out there too for FUN!
do you guys think we should have a micro slope racing class for 25" planes and under?
i will have my Raptor there. it is 24" and will have 4 servos. v-tail, full length flaps/ailerons, anyways, what do you guys think?
the course would be like 100 feet long, with noodle pylons so if you hit one it wouldn't take out your airplane. you could make a micro half pipe, or a pocket combat wing, all the same, but it would have to be under 7 ounces.
