My DS hill coined "Black Swan Hill" by Arbo sure was on yesterday. It was absolutely perfect with temps in the upper 70's and winds hovering around 20. I finally got my 60" Lumberjack fully wound up and I could put it anywhere in the sky that I wanted after building speed for 2-3 consecutive laps. I've found one of my favorite things to do is just point 'er straight up while doing consecutive rolls until it runs out of speed...so fun.

Blue Mesa looking good next week. I can't stay saturday but plan to get there early in the week like Thursday. See ya'll soon.

I have a class reunion #55 on Saturday so I am coming to Gunnison for Thursday/Friday only. I have yet to score a point in the several years I have been attending these events. I have made a few recoveries so it is a wash whether I am there or not. With Chris not there on Saturday Top Gun will up for grabs.

Guys, I can probably stay until around 3 Saturday and still make it back to work in time for my 6 pm start. They shifted my schedule back a day this summer which really bites...I now work sat, sun, and Monday nights. It was either that or do 4 10's which I really wasn't interested in.

With all the sad news lately I thought I'd share a bit of good news ( at least for me).
After the Blue Mesa event and seeing all the really nice larger slopers I decided to get myself a workshop just for modeling, might not be much but living in a 580 SQ foot house really limits the aircraft I can build.
I bought this little trailer with lots of windows
So after several days of cleaning tearing stuff out and building work surfaces I have a little shop and got started on one of Ed's stretched moth planks!
For the first time I can just leave and go back to it without putting everything away.
This is all your fault guys! Thanks!😊

Way cool Denny! It looks like you're hooked now and I look forward to seeing what comes off those benches. I love the ample windows for good light and ventilation when working with nasty stuff.

Haven't done much flying since the event. I've been doing some small repairs on my nice ships that suffered a little damage that week. We've had wind but it finally feels like summer here and standing on the hill in 90 degree temps isn't real appealing right now. Maybe a few late day glass off sessions are in order!

I hear you Chris, at 90º standing a round in a field is not that much fun either. At least on slope you have breeze. Garvin is super overgrown with all the rain we have been getting. It's all kinds of weeds with little seeds and stickers that get all up in your [email protected] so to make things worse I have to fly in pants and muck boots! Holy hot! I had a fun session with the Attacko until the wind went way west. I put her down and did some weeding, I am trying to make some paths through the weeds to get to my launch and LZ spots. When I went for a 2nd session the motor was week and I had a little mishap on launch. When I went to take out the battery it was super puffed so I think heat was the culprit. I dinged the wing tip pretty good but its repairable. A bummer though as the air frame was a 9.5 out of 10. now its a 7.5! Oh well.
Looks like smith might me good this week so I hope to get down there. Bummed I missed you all last weekend and really sorry to hear about the loss of new friend. Hang in there everyone and I'll see you all in september I hope.

It's hotter than the hinges of Hades over here in Grand Junction, I think 97' today. I have a workshop in the finished basement at my house so spend designated airplane time just trying to get all my planes in good working order.

Judd, those boots make me hot looking at them! Maybe barefoot is an option? Time to build and repair for a bit I guess.
