Aj,

I have the motor, I posted some basic tests on it a whole bunch of pages back. It can spin the 6x5.5 on 3S easy, because it can swing the APC 6x5.5 on 4S without getting too hot.

Aj,

I think the issue with the 2835-2200 Turnigy (as well as the 2835-2700) is that the kv is lower that than what is posted. On the 2700, I've seen many posts claiming it was really 2550. I the 2200 I've seen some posts claiming it was 2000 or just below.

Even one of the reviewers on Hobby King stated that this motor had less punch than the stock Stryker C motor (which is supposed to be 1880 kv). But a 4s lipo or a bigger prop might solve the problem...

You might even be able to get away with a 7x6 prop on the 2200 kv one (if i can handle 6x5.5 on 4s). But check the amps...

Yep, I also have the 2835-2700 with a 5.5x4.5 prop. It does perform quite a bit better...

Well, I folded. I wanted to make sure I had some batteries to play with over Easter weekend, so I just placed my order from HC.

2x 3s 3000mah 40C
2x 2s 3000mah 40C

Should be a significant improvement over the 2200-30C batteries that I was using last season. Here I come for more speed! After shipping the batteries aren't as big of a deal as they would be at first blush, but it works out to around $11/cell. Not too bad for cheap thrills!

I can't wait to "break" (although im still not fully convinced) these puppies in and see how they perform.

Congrats to whoever orders after me, as you'll likely be seeing the 45C batteries released in the next week or so

Kid,
Did you go with Flightmax or Turnigy? I'm still up in the air as to which is better. Flightmax is always lighter and smaller, but it seems like the higher weight of the Turnigy cells should indicate higher discharge ability.

Any experience comparing the two lines head to head?

Murdnunoc, I went with the Turnigy battery because of the form factor. The Turnigy battery is only 43mm wide, while the Flightmax is 45mm wide. Though this may seem like a small change, it is critical in being able to fit the batteries into my Siren as well as my Escape (pylon model). In all of my applications length and height is not as big of an issue as width, I need skinny batteries! The Turnigys should fit in my Stryker with minimal modifications. I have never tried a Flightmax battery, but they do look appealing. They aren't quite as cheap either (though this is nickel and diming it).

I have had great experiences with my Turnigy packs. They have taken a lot of abuse and keep on trucking. In bursts at 30C (their rating) I still see 10.8-11V for a 3s battery in my Siren. In the high performance community the HC batteries are beginning to show a little bit of a following. If its good enough for them its good enough for me!

A buddy of mine dropped this by the house to show me what he could do for me!

He said that he may be able to do it for about 25.00 a unit, they will be polished, and clear coated!

Guys, I am working on the deal to get these mounts done and brought to the public.
I have a order list that is getting larger by the minute!
These mounts are Laser cut out of aluminum and then welded together.

Me I would love to put a finish on them, things are starting to add up!
I may be able to get a friend to Anodize them for a cheap cost but we will see in the end!

Send all email request to this email address about the mounts and I will contact you as soon as we work this out!

Thanks guys for your patience, is appreciated.

I would be willing to bet that the Custom RC mount is lighter as well
