I cut the winglets out of aluminum sheet (bought in hardware store)
no weight difference compared to coroplast
if thin taped the winglet will return to its original state
untaped aluminum can be fixed with fingers (after crash)
because so many planes in my car large winglets no longer an option, I have to keep my wings really flat

it was windy day, any foamie woud be shaken like that

BTW, I used to put carbon spars on the bottom of my Strykers, last plane has shorter spar placed on top(filled with white "touch'nFoam") it is much easier cause plane bottom isn't really flat. Top located spar works well for me, no flapping at all.

Hi !

I've just purchased a Stryker airframe only today !
Now I'm a bit confused with all the brushless motor setups found here.
I have a 3s 2100Mha 20c Lipo anda a 40Amp speed controller.
I would like my stryker to go as fast as possible with this battery, so what motor should I buy and what propeller from hobbycity ?

Thanks in advance.

There are 2 HTX 2445 motors. 2900 KV and 3790 KV. Which one do you have?

Yap ! I've seen them. The 3790 KV is usable with a 4.75x4.75. Is it faster then the 2900 KV with 5x5 ?!?

Ok this looks like the thread.

I just bought a stryker kit (everything but electronics). I have a CC25, servos, berg4 to slap in. What motor/prop combo is good. I want to stay in the realm of 3s and 20-22 Amps for now.

Thanks~~

like 70-80mph max. I'm only used to about 40-45mph right now.

Ah Yeah, He is on the stryker kick

Check out the email I sent you, there are lots of options there. The ARC seems like a really good deal and should fit in the stock motor mount, I think??? Also the HXT from Hobby City is nice and cheap too. There is a 2200 and 2700 KV version. I think with the 25amp ESC, you need to stay lower on the KVs with a 6x4 prop so you don't burn it up. Also, I bet the ARC would take some abuse later if you upgraded the ESC and battery. The 4 turn has a pretty low amp draw when using a 6x4. Should have nice thrust, but won't be much faster than a stock stryker.

" like 70-80mph max. I'm only used to about 40-45mph right now. "

I started with the Stryker B which flew about 40-50mph. Then I switched to the "C" and found that #1 It's a big change, whey faster but, easier to do all the things I wanted to do with the "B". I crashed my B all the time trying to get really high then dive to get some more speed. The C has all the thrust and speed right out of the box. You can fly slow like 20mph then rocket straight up at about 70mph. The box says it goes 80 but, it doesn't go that 80 straight line. The plane flies better in a little wind too. It seems to help the vert and straight line speed.

His wicked 450 2700KV would work, but you would have to use a smaller prop.

He has test data. As much as I like Don and his products, I think the ARC is the better choice here.

The 500T from JGF is another option, but again you need a bigger ESC IMO. That could be had from Don

or slower but much better for amp draw.

EDIT: You will need a special mount if you go with an outrunner! The inrunners will likely drop in @ 28MM

wind or no wind doesn't change how fast it goes or how well it climbs... air speed is air speed
