Brushed motors and partial throttle

When reading motor test data, it seems that they are tested at full throttle settings for rpm and current.

I spend a lot of flying time cruising around at partial throttle, about half to 2/3 . Are brushed motors and esc's even less efficient at partial throttle settings than full throttle ?

Thanks

You can plot efficiency curves for part throttle operation. In general you will lose a few percent in efficiency when the ESC is switching. Overall system efficiency may improve at lower power settings, it may not. At very low settings it generally is very bad, but this won't be enough to keep the model in the air anyway.
