Super Cub 4 Channel

Here's a Super Cub I recently finished and now have a dozen flights on.

First flight was a bit of a disaster - Forgot to extend the antenna on the TX and it wound up coming straight down (couldn't have controlled is as good...) and broke the prop and shook things loose from the rubberbands...

Wing span 48" Chord 8"
Overall Length 34"
4 E-Flite S75 servos
GWSGWR-4P Reciever
E-Flite 370 1360KV motor
APC 9 x 3.7 prop
Castle Creations 18A ESC
Thunder Power 1320mA 2C battery

2 #64 Rubberbands hold the wing to the fuselage and 2 carbon fiber struts keep things aligned

Spars are 2" and 5.75" from the from the leading edge.

Landing Gear made from 1/8 welding rod

This is my 3rd foamy and the second taildragger - First was a beafed up version of the 3D Citabria from 3DFoamy but with a formed wing, #2 was a Stealth Sport by Glen Weber

throwing in a few pictures and a cadfile - PDF is scaled to 11 x 17 sheet so it's far from scale, will work on some tiled pages this weekend...

do you have a video on the plane maiden flight?

No Video

Don't have a way to video. Plane is very stable - ailerons help coordinate turns s but aren't effective enough to do a roll. Is a real nice trainer.

Super Cub 4 Channel -- building guidlines

Hi there --

I'm relatively new to this area and want to build an 'all encompassing' trainer. The 'Super Cub 4 Channel' seems to fit the bill in that it will allow me to start off with a basic plane -- running in three channels -- and add ailerons later, upgrading to four channels etc.

Are there any building guidlines available to help me work my way through the plans. I would welcome any advice!

Thanks

Simona

Hi there. Looks great. I am really interested in pictures of your battery mount. It looks very good, and I can use a mount like that on a couple of m planes. Thank you.

i am working on this one right now. I am building the pink one pictured above. I mounted all the electronics on Sat. but am missing a couple of pushrod connectors. I hope to find some time after work to get some today, then mayber i can get it up this week if the wind ever slows down.

Well i took it out for its maiden crash last night. I think i need more power. Currently i have a 2410-09Y Brushless Motor & 18 Amp MAG 8 ESC from Heads Up RC and running a 1170 prop and a 2c lipo. Anybody have any ideas?
