I haven't had a chance to weigh it yet. I am running BP-A2208-17 outrunners with Mystery 20amp BEC's turning APC 9x6 props on a 3 cell 2200mah 20c lipo. It should handle nicely. I like my warbirds to fly like the real thing, on the wing, not on the prop.

The weather is looking promising for this coming weekend!

Sounds like a nice setup. Hope you can maiden her this weekend.

Kevin.

Nice build but I highly recommend getting at least a 30c. The weak point in any twin is typically the battery. One power source feeding two power trains is a big demand.

How hard does a fellow have to work to get to 70 Oz? I had a 12 foot sailplane that weight! must be full house goodies and a BIG Battery!

The slow rebuild is finally complete! Last items to add were spinners, since going with the PowerUp motors meant the old spinners became obsolete.

I really liked the looks of Jay's and Bill's with the Dubro spinners. Decided to go with the 2 1/4" spinners to match them up with the cowl better (the original spinners were in between 2 and 2 1/4).

Performance is perhaps a little better, owing to the aerodynamic gain, but it was hard to tell in the windy conditions. It's not a really heavy plane anyway, so I figured I could afford to haul around the heavy plastic of the bigger Dubros.

Hope your spring comes soon (or fall lasts long down under!)

Thanks, Jim. I was pleasantly surprised with how the block of foam I bought at the local craft store sanded up. It isn't super smooth (still has a bit of a cold-rolled-steel look to it), but better than I expected.

Here's to hoping it's the last new nose this plane needs!

Looks great Jeff!

I'm still waiting on my maiden until the ground isn't so messy for a belly landing.

Blessings Y'all!

Here are a few action shots of Jeff's pretty 38. A couple of formation shots with my J-power P-38 as well albeit very loose formation!

Regards,
Alan

Thanks for throwing those on here. That fourth shot would look good black & white.

Too bad I had to go and crash it again! This dang plane has spent more time in the maintenance hangar than all my other planes combined. It's cursed!

Yeah, it was a good time. A bit windier than the other day when Alan and I got in a little tighter formation flying with our Lightnings...really looked good coming overhead in echelon.

The damage from my landing mishap seems less serious than I originally thought; mostly places where the CA from previous repairs failed. Looks like a little bit of glue here and there (and perhaps a bit more fiberglass tape on the tail for good measure) and it should be good to go.

My horizontal tail plane split apart yesterday. I didn't notice it until after a flight and it was back at the car for awhile. No biggie, I have epoxy, and I know how to use it.
